[REBOL] Re: Multimedia REBOL... yes or no?

NO PLEASE! and please do not move the discussion to a platform that blocks out all but Windows & Linux users. Too many things not compleated. OSX port, core consistant across view pro command ... deep recursion crash documentation Carl wrote. After reading your messages, I think what we've got are "growing pains". The kid, REBOL, needs to adapt and grow. As you know, REBOL was not created for general purpose programming, it was created for distributed computing... with dialecting and networking. But now what has happened is that many of us (including me) have become addicted to the REBOL mindset and use it for everything (maybe too much). Am I right? Hey, that's ok. Let's figure out what we need to do and get focused. Actually, getting focused is the hardest part, isn't it? Remember Amiga, the computer that could do almost anything? It was pulled in so many directions, it was hard for the world to recognize what it was best at. We don't want to do that again. Another thing, it's important to understand that some people decide to not use REBOL for reasons other than lack of 3D, MP3, streaming video, etc. The need for quality docs, examples, how-tos, articles, script archives, and evangelizing are just as important when you're starting a rebolution. How do we solve that problem? So, this is probably a good time to move this topic off of this slowly updating email list and to something a bit more dynamic. Let's meet up in the AltME REBOL World and take it up from there... -Carl On Tue, 8 Jul 2003, Carl at REBOL wrote:
