One problem with the growing list of different means of discussing
REBOL is that communication starts to get fragmented. Spam sucks, but
I don't think email's dead yet. Who can afford to turn their email
off and tell those in their address list to use software X, Y, or Z
instead? (No matter how much they'd like to;)

I'd recommend http://www.livejournal.com/ as quite good for blogging.
(It has a GNU license - see http://www.livejournal.com/doc/server )
Can be used to create private sections, communities and has RSS
support. There's also quite a few third-party front-ends to it, (as
apposed to its browser front-end), though none written in REBOL yet.

I'd call that useful, but not an alternative to a blog.
