Again Altme..blanked "White" on me... now while it was running for 
15 minutes...

And again...Altme Hung !!.. Its a Sync problem for sure ..

And again !!!..But i think i found the problem ;-) just a sec...

There are 2 problems as it looks...

(1) A Refresh problem of the Altme interface..Under linux with multiple 
desktops it looks like Altme is not refreshing the interface while 
switching desktops (Im using Xfce currently)


(2) A sync problem.. I was just typing inhere while everything stopped 
working...


Would be nice to have some debugging output in de console on whats 
going on...???

And now switching "Groups" did hung altme..

Now it happens every 3 minutes.. can even type a normal message..

Not typing a message for xx minutes does hang Altme too

ill stop now..its not clear what it is ;-)

Don't forget you are using BETA version.

;-) I know and like to reports bugs to make it more stable..but its 
somehow very clowded when it hangs..

Welll 1.1.28 just crashed on me too.. Its there something at the 
server-side going on perhpas?

1.1.28 is even wors!!! Pfff no fun anymore.. I quit...

what OS are you using? No single problem since new altme versions 
.... I suggest you to remove old version, and install from scratch 
... new altme releases completly removed otherwise frequent crashes 
here ...

Linux..

The problem is the old linux version keeps nagging about updating..(that 
dont work).. ;-)
Ill try and remove everything... back in a sec or two..

Well... there anr't any old linux version available from altme anymore... 
only debial r31.1 beta.. Mmm ill just try a fresh install with that 
then..

Lets see if version 1.1.29 runs better...

Intresting but irritating... Altme started from a Linux shell is 
able to be backgrounded.... ater starting Altme from the shell $./altme 
 you can background the altme process (3x processes) by pressing 
in the shell Ctrl-Z..Well that is commonly known.. But typing "jobs" 
doesnt show up anything.. also a "fg" doesnt work.. So actualy the 
Altme processes are currently roaming... Not quiet handy i would 
say..

then again.. it perhaps is... Closing the shell did not close Altme.. 
thats a good thing !

But now i need to Kill altme or gracefully close it from within altme...(as 
it should)

This is a pain!! doing a process on the Altme binary.. it does return 
i.e PID 4090.. but Altme is not on PID 4090 but on 4091 4092 4093.. 
So the main process is killed by altme or respawned.. Thats irritation 
, this means the above behaviour is unusable and thus a bug..

HA.. now it worked.. Im flabberG'ed..Ctrl-Z nog backgrounds the way 
it should..

Running altme with "Special Options" does create this error.. (1.1.29 
linux)

Reichart, I know this is on the "list" but do you think we'll ever 
see the Altme "minimize to the system tray/little window notifying 
one of a message." for windoze? My MS compadres insist that they 
need it. Bill Gates must put some kind of addictive substance in 
icon tray. But I guess once you get used to being notified that way 
it's a hard habit to break.

Mac Mail also does this (a red circle with a white number showing 
the number of new messages) ... a *very* handy feature.

A very handy (and not difficult, I guess) improvment on Altme would 
be to have an Icon near the search Icon to toggle sound alert on 
new message on or off.

Usually, you don't use it, but some times, you want to know if you 
have answers immediately and then, sound is nice.

The parameter is already in the config, so it's just to add a button 
at the top of the window to toggle it's value.

James, yes.  In fact we just wrote some of this for Qfile, and so 
we are testing it on multiple platforms.

reichart, the bug I talked about with the message that came with 
disk full? It also shows when there's plenty of diskspace available, 
so it must be something else. I can't start OSX AltME at all now.

or it could be the result of disk running full, some files being 
corrupted and the bug still shows after disk space was freed, I don't 
know...

yep, watch out for zero-sized files.

Yes, Henrik, that hit me too (and affect IOS as well).

On the 1.1.28 version I occasionally get a "Server reported error 
in char because of: User does not exist." This comes after a period 
of inactivity and upon entering a new message. Once restarted or 
updated it is fine.

No minimize method for OSX beta?

Is this beta client using an old version of encap still?  I got the 
recycle error again.

Got the IOS daylight savings error in AltME...

Another old problem: in file sharing, files with spaces in the name 
are not loaded when their accompanying applications are started

At a colleague of mine, AltME destroyed itself when the disk was 
temporarily full

Thanks. Did you also get my earlier report, that .JPG files are replaced 
with empty .jpg files?
