Last VLC is unable to show me video : the window blinks and resizes 
continuasly.

I think it's important to get it working in VLC for the linux users, 
h.264 or not...

Lost.

trying 264 with 12 fps.

image is very fuzzy and takes long to redraw

i'm going to try out other solutions too. this one works very well

Installing QT7...

i think the result would be much better with a server here in europe.

it probably goes through many nodes... sometimes you get a good connection, 
other times bad.

I heard a car horn honking 10 seconds ago. what's the delay?

i have QT7 open here too. the delay is 20 seconds or so.

try to restart it. should be on TCP now. more delay maybe but theoretically 
no packet loss.

also - i usually need to quit completely QT and then start it again 
for it to work properly.

Funny things is that QT give no sound, but VLC does (without picture).

ok, so QT/DSS is not very reliable. i'll try out othe options during 
this month, until we find one that seems good enough.

i could try to make it send a keyframe every second, but that would 
use a lot more bw.

WHat is with vlc and 264? I know nothing about codecs, just googled

For my part, it was better without H264. Have you tried H263?
