i think h.264 will only work with QT 7

but, the quality is much better. do you think it is worth it?

vlc has experimental support for h.264, but I've never seen it working 
on it

gabriele, is it possible to stream both or too much bandwidth?

school supposedly has 2Mbps, but not sure if that is symmetrical 
or not

users connect to a server that does relay. maybe we can have surfnet 
doing relay for us, otherwise we have my server in texas (the one 
you're seeing now)

No picture with quicktime nor VLC !!!

so, if it's like last year with 5 people watching the live stream, 
number of users is probably the least of our worries. :)

This codec is not the right one.

this one is h.264, requires QT7 and not sure if works with any version 
of VLC

yes, I noticed no dropouts in h.264. I have seen 2-3 dropouts in 
h.261 so far

now the question is: is it worth to ask people to download QT 7?

funny that QT7 can't measure the bandwidth on h.264, only on 261

keep in mind that i will still record everything on tape and encode 
that later (maybe mpeg4, 2-pass encoding)

so this is only for the live stream.
