So THAT is what that all day meeting was about! (:

As usual, Joel, your command of the language is awesome, and your grip
on the important issues for the community is firm. I think you are on
target with the basic goals of the proposed project. Chris is doing a
great job of clarifying, interpolating and syncing all the helpful
comments. I guess all that's left for me is to kibitz from the
side-line. ;-)
Like Volker, I tend to do a lot more cutting and pasting from example
code so that I can tweak to do my own thing. But I do think that your
ideas, Joel, and the compilation of ideas by and from Chris are on
target with the more generally beneficial central repository.
In my sleep-deprived ramblings yesterday, I did not intend to imply that
the central server(s) needed to be smart, per se. I meant that taking
the system as a whole, it would be nice to have control of some of these
abilities. Maybe some of what I was suggesting would be better served
as suggestions for future REBOL module/package distribution/control
methods (REBOL/* 3.*). I just wanted to toss out the ideas, so that
those who actually know the backs of their hands from the fronts could
chew on the ideas (do lead paint chips and dried frog pills cause
mid-life dyslexia?). It sounds like this has been happening. Good!
Meanwhile I just need to figure out how to stand on the *ground* before
I can worry about standing on the shoulders of giants!
