[REBOL] Re: R: Re: Docbase, Rebol Applications and central repository

From: moliad::gmail::com at: 20-Feb-2008 14:44

Giuseppe, rebol.org already has such stuff automated, maybe sunanda would like to add a news page, or some sort of active projects links, page, which you could maintain... he could even provide an rss feed, which is usually quite easy to setup. the rebol week, although once pretty active, is now underused, for a variety of reasons, one of them being that many of its members are very busy, sick, or recovering... you might want to speak to graham in order to be our current "active" maintainer. the complexity in having a central repository, is that people want control over their files, their image and stuff. Its often hard/tedious/impractical to host our stuff elsewhere. sometimes the release structure is complex enough to make it quite a job. its my honest belief that what you want to build is in fact an extension or improvement over what/how rebol.org manages what it does. Sunanada seems to be a little less "active" these days (at least publicly) maybe you could contact him privately and offer help on the management of rebol.org. I doubt he will reply by a flat no, especially if you really are willing to put effort and time in it... and by your continued rebdoc2 efforts as of late, I think you've proved out of any doubt that you have. on top of it, if you where able to help him, we'd all continue to have a single repository. does this all make sense? -MAx On Wed, Feb 20, 2008 at 10:45 AM, Giuseppe Chillemi <gchillemi-aliceposta.it> wrote:
