I've been using Cheyenne for a few years now, but I learned several 
things from Nenad's presentation

Does anyone know who's the author of the "rebolution" image I've 
used on slide 4? I had that picture on my disk, but can't find it 
online. I wanted to give proper credits to its author.

doc, are you interested in knowing about spelling mistakes on your

Probably not spelling mistakes .. just french instead of english

what does bob the artist mean?  Does it mean ease of use for the 
masses?

slide 5 .. is that us trying to see where Carl is ??

It was an expression I saw used at the beginning of R3 project. It 
was meaning "make things as easy as possible for non-programmers" 
like e.g., graphic designers, hence "bob the artist". "John the programmer" 
is an expression I used to make the point (I was thinking about John 
Carmack ;-)).

Well, you've certainly got your work cut out for you .. hope you 
have your own cave prepared!

Slide 5: yes, I guess they are looking for a savior. I was on the 
boat too until yesterday (among the sick ones), when I jumped into 
the water to try to reach an island nearby. ;-)

Nope, "naive" is the right term I wanted to use. In this context, 
it means "not-optimizing".

It's about partitioning data, not sure it's related to dataflow principles.

You're talking about multicore processors .. but wondering about 
multicpu as well

Linda or tuple-space

I made the focus on multicores because they are much more common 
than multiple processors architectures.

Linda & tuple-space are ways to solve the shared data synchronization 
problem, but they seem too costly for local usage (but should work 
well on a LAN I guess).

I tried accessing the slides from my ec2 instance .. but I guess 
I don't have flash enabled for security reasons!

Wait a few seconds, I'll change the way it is showed (using images), 
should work better.
