Andreas 31-May-2010 [5051] | they could have found out that it's an IPS panel by simply reading apple's product description, no :) ? |
NickA 7-Jun-2010 [5052] | Have you seen Apple's name for the new iPhone OS: "iOS" !!! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ytech_gadg/ytech_gadg_tc2440 |
AdrianS 9-Jun-2010 [5053] | This looks nice - http://www.onilabs.com I've never heard of Stratified JavaScript, but it sound quite good from reading the blog at: http://www.croczilla.com/blog |
amacleod 9-Jun-2010 [5054] | AdrianS, looks cool... So many cool technologies coming out its hard to keep up. |
Gabriele 10-Jun-2010 [5055] | It required JS to make functional programming "mainstream"... :) |
AdrianS 10-Jun-2010 [5056] | better late than never |
Maxim 10-Jun-2010 [5057] | yep, the above is pretty nice :-) |
Henrik 1-Jul-2010 [5058] | Microsoft kill the Kin. Rumors are that only around 500 devices were sold. |
DideC 6-Jul-2010 [5059] | Kin was not so kind ;-) |
Robert 6-Jul-2010 [5060] | Today is the day that Marty McFly arrived in the future, after hitting 88mph in the immense Delorean back in 1985. |
Ladislav 6-Jul-2010 [5061] | What? That was 2015, as far as I know |
Robert 6-Jul-2010 [5062] | http://925rebellion.com/today-is-the-day-marty-mcfly-went-back-to-the-future/ |
Ladislav 6-Jul-2010 [5063x2] | That's not right, the correct year is 2015 |
(october 21) | |
Robert 6-Jul-2010 [5065] | Hmm... well, than we need to watch the movie and check the scene. |
Ladislav 6-Jul-2010 [5066x4] | I did, twice (some time ago, though). All the years end in 5, no 0. |
{7303}{7418}And this is the year 2015?|- October 21, 2015. (subtitles)
{6676}{6746}We're descending toward|Hill Valley, California... {6762}{6801}{y:i}...at 4:29 p.m... {6803}{6885}{y:i}...on Wednesday, October 21, 2015.

Reichart 6-Jul-2010 [5070] | Good, we have 5 more years to make hover boards :) |
Izkata 6-Jul-2010 [5071] | They do exist - just not yet anywhere near the movie's standards ;) |
Pekr 7-Jul-2010 [5072] | Genesi is ready with their Efika MX Smartbook ... I think the design is rather nice, I like the keyboard. Reminds me of ZX Spectrum 48K :-) (press image to enlarge it) http://www.google.com/enterprise/marketplace/viewListing?productListingId=1755+2020297306215527660 |
Graham 7-Jul-2010 [5073] | $249 for smart client |
Pekr 7-Jul-2010 [5074] | What do you mean by "smart client"? Efika is not only a terminal. It can have full OS you can install. It is just that they use something like VNC/Citrix aproach, to get you SW you don't have installed physically on the machine itself ... |
Graham 7-Jul-2010 [5075x2] | That's what they call it. Their name. |
I was thinking that it sounds expensive .. but perhaps it is not.
Pekr 7-Jul-2010 [5077] | Well, many ppl will ask for AmigaOs/MorphOS option. But all they get is various Linuxes ... hmm, maybe AROS, who knows ... |
Graham 7-Jul-2010 [5078x3] | I presume they call it client because it is supposed to run google apps ...with a years subscription |

NickA 12-Jul-2010 [5081] | I've been waiting to see this trend pick up speed, for years now (looks a lot like Scratch): http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/12/technology/12google.html?scp=1&sq=googleapp inventor&st=cse |
AdrianS 12-Jul-2010 [5082] | Looks like everyone needs their own systems programming language - this one, from Mozilla, is called Rust. Seems to have some interesting features. http://wiki.github.com/graydon/rust/language-faq |
Dockimbel 15-Jul-2010 [5083x2] | Epic fail: http://techcrunch.com/2010/07/14/france-launches-multi-lingual-tourist-website-it-goes-down-and-stays-down/ |
(can't find the Humour group anymore)
Maxim 15-Jul-2010 [5085x2] | strange is a private group. |
but yeah... this is very good press especially since its a tourist site :-)
Dockimbel 15-Jul-2010 [5087] | Max: btw, the site development costed 800k€ to french administration ;-) |
Maxim 15-Jul-2010 [5088] | so there where 5 programers, one sysadmin, and 25 management in the group? ;-) |
Dockimbel 15-Jul-2010 [5089] | well, probably :-P |
Henrik 15-Jul-2010 [5090] | DocKimbel, if only the IT problems were that small for the Danish government... |
Gabriele 16-Jul-2010 [5091] | Doc: it was much worse in Italy. costed like 2x that, when they opened it it was basically empty, and then they realized it was the most useless thing. |
Pekr 20-Jul-2010 [5092] | Jolicloud - netbook UI based on Ubuntu + HTML 5 .... nice looking design .... http://digitizor.com/2010/07/17/jolicloud-1-0-brings-a-new-html5-interface/ |
BrianH 20-Jul-2010 [5093] | I looked at that, including a demo. The interface doesn't have an obvious way to switch between running applications or tell which applications are running. And it *does* have multiple running applications. It looks semi-pretty (with the exception of the WinXP Luna colors) but not very usable. |
Maxim 20-Jul-2010 [5094x2] | wow a nice XP skin for the ipad, running web applications.... yes I'm being ironic ;-) |
it even has loads of "spy on my friends" apps yay! not! :-0
BrianH 20-Jul-2010 [5096] | for the ipad - it's not very touch-friendly either; better use a mouse. |
BrianH 21-Jul-2010 [5097] | Now this is cool: http://www.flipboard.com/ http://scobleizer.com/2010/07/20/exclusive-first-look-at-revolutionary-social-news-ipad-app-flipboard/ |
Henrik 21-Jul-2010 [5098] | Yes, now I see why geeks hate the iPad. They didn't think of this app. :-) |
Pekr 23-Jul-2010 [5099] | Finally something usefull for typing on touch based devices :-) http://www.blindtype.com/ |
Graham 23-Jul-2010 [5100] | whatabout us touch typists?? |
