[PowerPack] discussions about RP
older | first |
Maxim 20-Apr-2007 [144] | we are converging all prior efforts and their originators into a single concerted effort. |
Gregg 20-Apr-2007 [145] | There's a new private chat group. I'll add you to it. |
Anton 21-Apr-2007 [146] | I'm interested, but I am afraid that I will disagree with other people who have different ideas about what is the best way to implement a library/module system - therefore I am cautious before spending too much time here. |
Mario 10-May-2007 [147x2] | I am working on a "starterpack" when I find some time. It simply downloads the scripts I found useful or very interesting but they are not really managed/organised but for I put them in different directories depending on their main purpose |
If someone is interested please let me know
Anton 11-May-2007 [149] | I would be interested in the list of scripts you use, where you place them, and how you use them. I probably wouldn't just download and install your entire config as I have established my own ways of working. I would inspect each piece and see if it has value to me. |
Mario 11-May-2007 [150x2] | Anton: if you are interested in "my" collection it is just one script with a data file and I plan to make it available via rebol.it |
The script loads the data file that contains info on the files and how to download handle them. Archives are usually downloaded and unpacked. You just have to put both files in a directory and run the script.
Anton 11-May-2007 [152] | Ok, I'll wait for that, then. :) |
Gabriele 27-Jan-2010 [153x2] | maybe we can repurpose this group for Power Mezz? the ideas are probably similar. |
or, someone with permissions please make a Power Mezz group.
Sunanda 27-Jan-2010 [155] | Done. |
Graham 30-Jan-2010 [156x4] | So to use the power pack, we have to load the module system first .... |
I was just looking to see what I needed to use the html-filter function, and it seems I have to load the module system, and then import all stuff needed to run the html-filter ...
To use this you need to download a bzip decompression utility, and then you need to download something that will untar ....
Do you really need the GNU make to generate all the .r scripts ??
Will 30-Jan-2010 [160] | Graham, Gabriele uploaded a prebuilt version http://sourceforge.net/projects/rebol-power-mez/files/power-mezz-built-1.0.0.zip/download |
BrianH 30-Jan-2010 [161] | That's the Power Mezz package - this is a different group. |
Graham 30-Jan-2010 [162] | Thanks Will.... |
BrianH 30-Jan-2010 [163] | Did someone make a web site for the Power Pack, or is it a dead project? |
Graham 30-Jan-2010 [164] | Dead .. |
BrianH 30-Jan-2010 [165] | Ah, we can switch groups then. |
Graham 30-Jan-2010 [166] | rather ... still born |
BrianH 30-Jan-2010 [167x3:last] | Looking back at the discussions, it looks like it was a similar idea to what the R3 group has been calling R3/Plus. |
A place for community-provided library code that isn't included in the standard REBOL distribution.
Similar ideas seem to get brought up again and again with different names.
