I'm still thinking if I go by plane or by car. As I live in the south-west 
of Germany, I could pick-up some people.

I would welcome if interim releases would be commented in the same 
way, as Carl did with View 1.3 Build Change Log. It keeps ppl informed

very exciting.  seems an excellent idea to use the school, better 
facilities than a hotel, and likely all the equipment for classes 
(projectors, screens, even overheads maybe?)

And if it's cheaper, may be more people can come.

now the dates.   If anyone of us is about to go there and reserve 
flights and hotels... the sooner the date is known, the sooner its 
possible to try and make it.

someone has to take charge and decide and become the focal point 
of the organisation, otherwise its going to become hard to get there.... 
airfares cost more as deadlines are closer...

But often hotels become cheaper the closer to the deadline.

so far 8 people sent in the survey email. we need a bit more to decide 
for dates and so on.

did u try sending the survey to other 'interest' groups

not yet. i'd like to get the feedback from the rebolers first, then 
make up a plan based on that.

reason: first of all, the devcon is for rebolers first, others second. 
second, we need speakers, otherwise there's no point in having other 
people coming; if we have no speakers, then let's just make a "meeting" 
or "party" or whatever you want to call it.

What is the best airport for Milan (maybe there are 4 of them?

To save you waiting until tomorrow for an answer from Gabriele - 
Malpensa is the main airport for Milan.

I'm sure Gabriele will correct if I'm wrong.

If I remember correctly Linate is a long way from Milan.

One of my favourite restaurants is in Milan - La Brisa - it's somewhere 
between il Duomo and the station.

Yep, Maplensa is the main airport now (Linate used to be). Actually 
Linate is closer to Milan, but Malpensa is bigger and newer.
