Does right mouse click copy to clipboard work for you? As for me, 
for few versions already, I have a problem with that. Dialog box 
appears, but there is not text in the clipboard ....

I just discovered (at least) one of my altme chat files was corrupt....One 
of the lines in the file was truncated halfway through.

I deleted the entire REBOL3 folder, restarted Altme, and let it resync.

I now have a zillion red groups.

Plus a lot of wrong settings (like the last two pressed of enter 
transmitted the line)


But I do have a dozen or so groups with messages I'd never seen from 
up to two months ago.....It was drastic but it has fixed the resync 
bug for me, at least for a while.

you need the "all read" setting instead of the "all red" one

I notice if you switch worlds too quickly, it fails to change the 
saved password :(

I noticed that too some time ago....Which is why I can [have to] 
remember all my altme passwords :-)

It works better (ie forgets fewer passwords) if you click the dropdown 
at the top left to change words.

New version of Altme installing itself....

Several bug fixes -- including the search/scrolling one that Henrik 
and I reported just a couple of weeks ago.

That's the second bug-fix release in a month -- looks like Safeworlds 
are giving some attention to Altme again -- thanks guys!

Frank, I have Kubuntu Linux + Wine + Altme 1.2.14

Has anyone noticed problem with altme like tjhis:
When I run altme I can scroll messages window with mouse wheel.

When I lose connection and reconect after that  mouse wheel is not 
working any more....???

I haven't seen that myself.

just wondering how you guys are getting Altme to work with Kubuntu/wine 
? I have Kubuntu 7.1 installed and when I try to run Altme off my 
Windows install, the Altme screen is just dots in place of text ? 
I was able to run Altme with no problems with mandriva/wine

you need to install the core windows fonts. run adept, and search 
for the msttfcorefonts package

actually, it's msttcorefonts. sorry.

thanks ! forgot that I had installed the windows fonts on Mandriva 
so why it worked with it. Old age :)

hmm... my code snippet check list is empty. did something happen?

I see 10 code snippets, so possibly you have fallen victim to one 
of the several Altme resync problems.
As far as I know, the only way to recover is:
1. exit Altme

2. delete the worlds/rebol3 folder (make sure you remember your password 
first) (actually, safer to rename the folder to, say, OLD-rebol3)
3. restart Altme and connect to REBOL3.

Expect it to take a while as it reyncs the whole world -- 25 meg 
or so of stuff.

Hope this 1.2.15 fixes the password problem

Now that Reichart is no longer none, perhaps we can ask if this password 
problem can be fixed???

Sunanda reports that the bug is present for him still .. though I 
have not seen it in the last day.

Yes, we are working on another update.  It is the end of the year, 
and developement is about to slow down again, but the bug is ranked 
high...

Will there be any capability to go back and edit an already submitted 
post in the future.  I would love to use ALTME for some Bible discussion 
but it would have to allow me to go back and edit past postings and 
have some better formatting features for the layout of the posts 
such a font size, font type, color, spacing, etc..  Any likelihood 
of that coming soon.

How does AltME launch web browser? I have my browser defaulted to 
FF, but it always starts IE. Not that it would be much of a problem, 
but IE proxy setting is set by our Active Directory rule with each 
log-in, so at home I have to constantly change the proxy setting 
each time I get home, in order to be able to start links directly 
from AltME ....

Altme uses FF for me.

Check what you have associated with your HTM and HTML file types...

it is FF. I am no Vista. With my former notebook, I had one problem, 
where FF was chosen, but Vista still kept IE and it could not be 
deselected (and I am local admin). With my recent notebook, I simply 
have FF registered ....

I have registered 10 of 10 possible things for FF, but it still does 
not work. I noticed there are still 3 entries registered with IE, 
one of them being .url, but it can't be deselected (is greyed), even 
if I am admin. I really don't like Vista, it is complete shit. To 
display file associations it took 20 secs here on 2GB RAM, Core Duo 
machine ...

Paul, you could always write a script that manipulates the server 
files.  R: would there be a way to push the altered data to clients?

This really should not be a problem in the first place...this really 
seems like some IE thing.  Pekr, what happens if you save an HTM 
or HTML file, and double click on it?

I just figured how to select the default browser for AltME in Vista.

Make sure you have AltME closed when you change it or close it then 
open it after changing it. I used "Set program access and computer 
defaults" and selected custom then picked Firefox as my default browser.
