james_nak 2-Mar-2006 [1083] | Wow. I better not tell my programming staff..they use .net and everything is huge! |
Pekr 2-Mar-2006 [1084] | hmm, so current bet Windows we use uses still 1.2.10 internally? |
Graham 2-Mar-2006 [1085x2] | what's the rule for syncing? |
does everything sync? | |
Henrik 2-Mar-2006 [1087] | graham: don't sync while drunk |
Graham 2-Mar-2006 [1088] | nps .. never been drunk in my life. |
Henrik 2-Mar-2006 [1089] | me neither, strange coincidence |
Carl 2-Mar-2006 [1090x4] | lol lol |
That cheered me up from my Linux blues.
And Pekr, yes still on 1.2 but not for long!
(It is matter of stability testing, always advancing in increments to reduce multivariate bugs)
Graham 2-Mar-2006 [1094x2] | only files you look at sync? |
never heard of the great leap forward Carl?
Carl 2-Mar-2006 [1096x2] | Small files autosync. There is a threshold. |
I only get one great leap per month around here.
Graham 2-Mar-2006 [1098] | full moon? |
Carl 2-Mar-2006 [1099] | The threshold will be setable in the options at some point. |
Graham 2-Mar-2006 [1100] | so how much of IOS are you going to move to Altme? |
Carl 2-Mar-2006 [1101x2] | Another variable will be how many simultaneous uploads/downloads. Right now it does them all at the same time. |
On IOS, not sure yet. The merge happens on R3 timeline.
Henrik 2-Mar-2006 [1103] | the filesharing thing, is that kind of a module? if so, will it be possible in future versions to write your own modules? |
james_nak 2-Mar-2006 [1104] | Good question. |
Carl 2-Mar-2006 [1105x2] | Yes, AltME is all modules. See the mods dir of your install directory. |
Yes, that is in the plans.
Graham 2-Mar-2006 [1107] | using LNS for file sharing? |
Carl 2-Mar-2006 [1108] | That is for the son of AltME, the great and powerful Altissimo. |
Graham 2-Mar-2006 [1109] | So, Altme is to be rewritten using LNS? |
james_nak 2-Mar-2006 [1110] | Gabriele must be working on that great and powerful version. |
Pekr 2-Mar-2006 [1111x3] | Carl - that is strange ... becuase last weeks, I got really two-time-the-week recycle crashes, mainly while still syncing and pressing groups quickly to "unred" them :-) No such problem with new beta yet .... but maybe it is too early to tell, however surprised that it is build on 1.2.10 .... |
Altissimo, Rebol 3.0, new AltME build ... what a news are leaking :-)
what happened to /Coop (whatever it was meant to be)? :-)
Graham 2-Mar-2006 [1114] | that was for the chickens |
Carl 2-Mar-2006 [1115x2] | Pekr: on no recycle, just luck. It is not gone yet. |
A lot going on. Coop is not dead, but we are going to build it differently, and it has a lot of overlap with the REBOL Central idea. So, it probably will be both those things somehow, but not until R3 is ready (with R/S built in)
Pekr 2-Mar-2006 [1117] | R3 roadmap announcement anytime soon now? :-) |
Graham 2-Mar-2006 [1118x3] | this seems to be a bug. |
I've got "anothersitename" above "As Graham" top left.
Logged on again, and now it says "Rebol3" above "As Graham".
Ingo 3-Mar-2006 [1121] | Will there be any newer versions of R/S before R3? |
Carl 3-Mar-2006 [1122x4] | The roadmap soon. I hope. |
(Please post other questions in correct group.)
Graham: is anothersitename one of the worlds you log into?
So, the bug would be that it is showing the wrong world name even tho u are in this world?
Graham 3-Mar-2006 [1126] | Carl, yes, anothersitename is another world name .. only happened once though. |
[unknown: 10] 4-Mar-2006 [1127x2] | I wondering for some time now..Why is there NO ALtME-Transport-Protocol available?? Is there none or is it simply not yet secure enough to give away? Or does it break the ALTME secrets ?... |
Its a nice way to let people build plugins...
[unknown: 9] 4-Mar-2006 [1129] | This will come. |
[unknown: 10] 4-Mar-2006 [1130] | :-) |
PhilB 7-Mar-2006 [1131] | Is everyone using the new AltME beta Shoud I be swithcing to it? |
Henrik 7-Mar-2006 [1132] | I'm using it on MacOSX and it runs very well, no crashes this far |
