i hope so, anyway, it's not such a big problem as it's still very
rare bug. Altme is great. I'm sometimes using other web forums and
can compare it with Altme - which has much more better approach (as
I don't need to load huge HTML all the time to just check if someone
answered my question:)

FYI: When the disk runs full under MacOSX, AltME displays an error:
"AltME Error: Registry: cannot load dataset files: 2" Perhaps something
a bit more informative could be done?

Does the file have execute flag set?
To get a long list and see flags: ls -l
To set execute flags: chmod +x <file>
(above should be written in a unix shell like bash, of course)

Its downloading 042 it tells me but in the /versions dir there is
this -> altme1-1-1-4-2
Not an execatuble.. But its has an ELF header... unable to execute
it in anyway..
im using now 1.0.2
its simply not a linux binary...
at least not a correct one..
-bash: ./altme1-1-1-4-2: cannot execute binary file
ELF󢫪 (4燖隌隌隌{^@{^躥\\醊\醊览/lib/ld-linux.so.2磐x"
unable to do anything with it..
I just downloaded the Debian version manualy from Altme!! Its runs
out of the box on Slackware 10.2 !! (just that you know it ;-)

It has execute permissions, I can see. Maybe it needs another link
file? Like the lib/ld-linux.so.2
Do you have such a file in your system?

No its not a library problem... Linux is not complaining about a
library problem... the ELF header is not correct..

Automatic updating is not working for me, either. It keeps downloading
the update at every AltME start but won't carry out the upgrade

Can someone tell me how I have to setup to AltME (on Windows) so
that it directly connects to a specific world?

Click "Auto-return to previsous world" in the settings.

Well, I have three worlds open at the same time.
So I need a way to start AltME three times everytime with a different
world.

I know it's a known bug, but it happened first time for me: strange
datatype during recycle.
While clicking a red group during syncing.
AltME 1.1.28 Windows XP
Additionally, after restarting I clicked the same group again, after
syncing had finished. And it crashed again.

No problems when I first clicked another group, and then the one
that had crashed altme.
Just an idea, do you think that it can help to send you zips of the
AltME dir after a crash?

Thanks Ingo, but no, we can make that bug happen also.
Somewhere in this thread we talk about why each happens.

Only if the group is set to private (ie Public not clicked),

I also just noticed that if I have two worlds open, and open the
calendar in one of them, it's not clear which world the calendar
belongs to, so it's easy to add events to the wrong world by accident.

Here's a bug, at least in the Linux version of the new AltME. I tried
to upload some photos from a camera application, with names like
DSC0123.JPG. Instead, AltME created extra files DSC0123.jpg with
zero length and uploaded those
Another thing is that private folders are visible to other people.
I think their existence should be unknown, like chat groups

Is it a bug? It works under window...but not under linux...clicking
on "Explore directory" (debian version 1.1.29) Altme reports me
-> /bin/bash: line 0: fg: no job control
i started Altme like this -> $./altme
Option request: Changing Nickname..Now that is probaly not possible
but I guess that switching Nick <-> Realname is an option?
By the way.... On the www.rebol.com and www.rebol.net websites it
is mentioned that all the FUN happens at Altme! Well I believe that
;-) BUT new users are unable to login!.... try that for a change..
Try seeking how to login on REBOL3 ...perhpas handy to mention that
a Guest account is like ie "Guest" "guest".. I could not find it...

Just found that my Altme (1.1.28) opened console and started to print
"Show on face in closed window." Then crashed.
