GrahamC 17-Jan-2011 [2412] | shadwolf, I'm confused .. you seemed to be working again on area-tc and now you're leaving again? May be you need to take that Lithium :( |
Maxim 17-Jan-2011 [2413] | btw..... Thanks everyone for all the cheers, it feels good for some of my work to finally have a bit of instant gratification ;-) I also want to say thanks to everyone who's taking the time to test GLASS. |
Gregg 20-Jan-2011 [2414] | Go Max go! |
Maxim 20-Jan-2011 [2415x2] | I am now planning a weekly release cycle. It will contain all the "in-progress" stuff, so will allow people to help in adding new stuff if they want. If anyone wishes to contribute new styles, new modules, new documentation and/or tutorials and apps, I'll be very happy to include your stuff within the distro and properly attribute it. the only constraint is that it has to be BSD and will obviously go through my prying eyes, in order to keep consistency with the whole package. |
sorry.. it has to be MIT or BSD (I have a preference for MIT, but BSD is ok too).
GrahamC 20-Jan-2011 [2417x2] | Github it ? |
And is it possible to get rid of the library manager so that it can be encapped?
Maxim 20-Jan-2011 [2419x3] | it can be encapped with the library manager... come on do you think my tools woudn't be encapable, I ship appliations. |
and no we cannot remove the library manager.
yes, I might github it, but I'm still a bit noob with git, so won't do this right now.
Andreas 24-Jan-2011 [2422x2] | The cURL binding documentation looks very good Kaj, congratulations. |
I can also confirm that the precompiled binary .so available for download works as-is with Debian GNU/Linux 5.0.7 on i686.
Kaj 24-Jan-2011 [2424] | Thanks. By the way, thanks should also go to Tomas Bonte for the bounty, to Tomas and Oldes for testing, and to you, Andreas, and Brian Hawley for debugging |
GrahamC 24-Jan-2011 [2425] | Can someone compile it for win32? |
Andreas 24-Jan-2011 [2426x2] | i can try :) |
(-> cURL Binding) | |
TomBon 24-Jan-2011 [2428] | great kaj! do you need some breath or do you like to bring some coooool concurrency to rebol -> http://www.zeromq.org/:-))) |
Kaj 24-Jan-2011 [2429] | I do want to continue with that, but I need to focus first for a while on SylCon next week and ReBorCon in a month |
TomBon 24-Jan-2011 [2430x2] | sure, gracias for curl kaj. very usefull component and already working ;-) |
ahhh...this example code is looking...well....(wait, I have to clean my uncontrolled salivation) ...very nice! -> http://www.zeromq.org/intro:read-the-manual please contact me for the bounty details as soon as you like to start.
Kaj 24-Jan-2011 [2432] | OK |
GrahamC 25-Jan-2011 [2433] | Good to hear about the R3 odbc update |
sqlab 1-Feb-2011 [2434] | That's curious. If I try to unpack 2.4 MB glass-r003.zip, I get a folder with just 1.3 MB and only two files in glass/libs. I tried with 7zip and the WinExplorer. |
DideC 1-Feb-2011 [2435] | It's the only solution he found to bloat a Rebol program ;-) |
Pekr 1-Feb-2011 [2436] | My distro is OK ... using Total Commander and its internal zip tool to "unpack" (it treats archives as regular dirs) |
DideC 1-Feb-2011 [2437] | Seriously : I get an error while unpacking from XP standard zip app. The problem is on a file named "debug" in the libs folder. So unpacked folder is only 2 files length but there is 39 files in the archive. |
Maxim 1-Feb-2011 [2438x3] | strange... its ok with some tools and not in others (winrar also ok)... the debug dir is an empty dir. |
I'll package the zip with another tool... tell me if that's better...
new zip file now online... same path: http://www.pointillistic.com/open-REBOL/moa/files/glass-r003.zip
Rebolek 1-Feb-2011 [2441] | or use RIP :) |
Maxim 1-Feb-2011 [2442] | what's RIP? |
Rebolek 1-Feb-2011 [2443] | Carl's REBOL packer, it should be on http://www.rebol.org |
Maxim 1-Feb-2011 [2444x2] | hum will look into it, could be another idea. |
rip seems to work quite well :-) its actually making smaller archives than zip in my initial tests!
DideC 2-Feb-2011 [2446x2] | RMA, panel doc : The light gray text on white background that you use for code block is nearly unreadable. Please darken the text a bit ! |
And the constrast between black background and white box hurt my poor eyes too. I wold prefer code block in dark gray bg and white texte !
Henrik 2-Feb-2011 [2448] | DideC, which document are you reading? I'm having trouble finding the correct link. |
DideC 2-Feb-2011 [2449x3] | This one http://www.rm-asset.com/code/level1/r3-gui/gui-panels/ |
With FF3 | |
sorry, with Firefox 3.6
Henrik 2-Feb-2011 [2452] | ah :-) I thought my carefully planned document scheme was a problem. |
Robert 2-Feb-2011 [2453] | DideC, yes, we know. Already working to fix it. This comes from using MDP format internally and just hard-copy the generated HTML code, without style adaption. |
DideC 2-Feb-2011 [2454] | so add a class to the HTML used by MD, then go CSS. |
Ashley 2-Feb-2011 [2455] | Also consider changing the page heirarchy: Clicking "Code" then "Level-1" then "R3-GUI Library" then "GUI Panels" is not very intuitive. |
Robert 2-Feb-2011 [2456] | You mean the Level-1 stuff? Well, we organize our stuff internally this way... should direct people to the right level of interest. |
Pekr 2-Feb-2011 [2457] | I somehow agree with Ashley, though I can understand that you have some structure set. The top level menu simply does not show - Docs directly. So intuitively I went to Code, and then - huh, what's Level-1? If I would not read more about your infrastructure, I would feel a bit lost probably :-) |
Robert 2-Feb-2011 [2458x2] | Well, it's explained in short words on the left side... I can't free everyone from reading. |
But it's not a big deal to change the structure... if it adds value and doesn't bloat the menus.
jocko 2-Feb-2011 [2460] | having access to a pdf copy of the content could be nice also |
Henrik 2-Feb-2011 [2461] | don't know when that is planned :-) |
