A "Standard English"

 [1/5] from: depotcity::telus::net at: 18-Apr-2001 13:11

I read in an article recently... 'In the future, all of our machines will talk to each other, not just in bits and bytes, but in a common language, a standard English that spans all systems and is easily readable not just by machines but by humans.' A quote taken from the Rebol site at one time. Question is, Do we have a standard English yet? What work has/is being done to standardize it? Terry Brownell

There is a language called Esperanto that is/was supposed to be a standardized language. Terry Brownell wrote:

Esperanto is alive, but they struggle with what char set to use, as their chars dont fit into any of the iso sets, iirc. So much for standardising, first thing I would do if I created a language would be to drop all fancy accents and who knows what :) -- kolla
