I looked at this, and it is cute .. and beyond my View skills, but in the end, I want my daughter to know a programming language specifically Rebol, and I don't see this as helping much.

Yep ...and I agree that the visual side is the way to go. Perhaps start with a basic VID screen, and add buttons, actions etc to achieve this aim.
