[REBOL] bugs are discouraging (was MAKE-DIR Problem)

I'll report this bug but as you said, most probably, they are aware of it.
Why don't they correct all these basic bugs related to ftp? Such bugs
discourage newbies like me.
I am currently doing some research in my university. I intended to use rebol
for prototyping. I think I am going to give up this idea.
Is the rebol language only for specialists who are able to rewrite most of
the functions by themselves ?
