bugs are discouraging (was MAKE-DIR Problem)

Hi Anton, Thank you for your answer I'll report this bug but as you said, most probably, they are aware of it. Why don't they correct all these basic bugs related to ftp? Such bugs discourage newbies like me. I am currently doing some research in my university. I intended to use rebol for prototyping. I think I am going to give up this idea. Is the rebol language only for specialists who are able to rewrite most of the functions by themselves ? AG

Please be aware that REBOL has not been around as long as e.g. C or PERL. It is still under devleopment and if I'm not mistaken you're probably using a 'stable' release and not the latest public betas available over at http://www.reboltech.com/downloads/ (Ending a sentence with a URL is a bit tricky. Should one omit the period or should one risk giving people "faulty" URLs?). Essentially, Carl et al are probably working on it.

I don't know what type of prototyping you intend to perform. With that said I do think it seems a bit premature to give up on REBOL just because it doesn't work flawlessly out of the box? Your at uni - rise to the challenge. >Insert prefered deity here> knows that you'll end up working with a lot worse programming languages than REBOL (as you can see I presume you're a CS student of some sort).

No, but programming is presently not for all. IMNSHO REBOL is a big step in the right direction as it's much more natural than quite a few other languages out there. Yours Sincerely /Lennart Fridén ([lennart--nylen--biz]) The World is not sane so why should I be?
