Please be aware that REBOL has not been around as long as e.g. C or PERL. It is still under devleopment and if I'm not mistaken you're probably using a 'stable' release and not the latest public betas available over at http://www.reboltech.com/downloads/ (Ending a sentence with a URL is a bit tricky. Should one omit the period or should one risk giving people "faulty" URLs?). Essentially, Carl et al are probably working on it.

I don't know what type of prototyping you intend to perform. With that said I do think it seems a bit premature to give up on REBOL just because it doesn't work flawlessly out of the box? Your at uni - rise to the challenge. >Insert prefered deity here> knows that you'll end up working with a lot worse programming languages than REBOL (as you can see I presume you're a CS student of some sort).
>Is the rebol language only for specialists who are able to rewrite >most of the functions by themselves ?
No, but programming is presently not for all. IMNSHO REBOL is a big step in the right direction as it's much more natural than quite a few other languages out there. Yours Sincerely /Lennart Fridén ([lennart--nylen--biz]) The World is not sane so why should I be?
