[REBOL] Re: ALTME: QA?

From: reichart::prolific::com at: 22-Nov-2002 14:05

Petr, I did not the smiley face, but quick wit is a side effect of very smart people, and so I probe more because the real gems of information are just below the surface. I agree 100% with your view. It is taking some work to make FTPGadget and AltME indistinguishable from any other app on a given platform. But we are getting there. 1. Over effect was not realtime in AltME info section A: Agreed. Will improve. 2. Q: list-box implementation does not imo behave correctly and is slow .... A: Agreed. Will improve 3 Q: channel name should not allow caret - it does not look good ... A: Consider this in a different way perhaps. People will be able to create worlds for just a day or week, etc. This is a concept that does not currently exist in any apps I know of. In our company we create FTP sites like others use razors. Because of this it will be easy for individuals to create a world called ^Disney^ even though Disney is using the world name Disney. Companies will almost NEVER use "^" but individually will use all sorts of symbols. Including simply naming their world, or a group "^" There are many things I think are ugly, Spandex on most people, plastic lawn furniture and ornament (flamingos), Bumper sticker, etc. But there is a big market for them. Please always give me feedback, in what you believe is good bad, or downright viscous, we are not going to end up with a better product if people are nice about their observations. That is the great part of having a free-market. For those of you that started with us on FTPGadget, you have seen some dramatic changes in design, user interface, and features. But about 1/10 of what I plan for this coming year. Be useful. Reichart...
