This is a periodic posting of community links along with activity 
levels for discussion dedicated to Rebol and Rebol-like languages. 
The intent is to bring a dispersed community together by providing 
the current list of places where the community gathers along with 
reasonably accurate activity indicators for each place. This list 
will be posted in each location weekly or bi-weekly so that anyone 
dropping by will not have to look far in order to learn where else 
things are happening.


Currently the activity stats are gathered manually and postings are 
also not automated. This will hopefully change as the requisite scripts 
to scrape and post automatically are developed. This updated list 
will eventually be available at http://rebol.comas the site is cleaned 
up post Rebol open sourcing.

This is the primary forum for Rebol 3.0. It runs from any Rebol console 
in a text mode, but a GUI version is planned.

Graham: A good figure for you would be to count all the lines of 
code in Synapse-EMR and divide by the total number of hours you have 
spent working on it.

That's if the program you're comparing with is similar to the size 
and complexity of Synapse-EMR.

Hey, you can hook up synapse, and have a Qtask/Altme clone.

Yes -- Altme could do with a  retreive last posting icon....Graham's 
Synapse does that.

actually synapse chat maintains a list of all you type .. but only 
the last message is accessible

Synapse has it's own clipboard where it stores all sent messages

The synapse chat client was completely async as it used Beer.

denis, yes!  :)

I would prefer that the message be saved somewhere ... and available 
in a button to restore than this effect,  That's how I did it in 
the Synapse chat client.

That's not our decision. Users choose which method is best for communication 
and so far, AltME holds up pretty well. Users are free to use open 
forums like rebolforum.com or the Synapse forum.

Festival is a software made in Scheme ( a Lisp clone) that allow

exhibitors.  Synapse EMR using Rebgui .. should be there too demonstrating

I couldn't get Synapse to run, but was wondering if soft keys is 
the answer. If you've used an HP48 or similar calculator, it has 
6 F-keys which are assigned to different operations depending on 
which screen is shown.

Why don't you use synapse chat?  You have the server and client ...

My synapse chat program also stores timestamps and needs the timezone 
so that other users not in NZ can translate the timestamp to local 
time.

reading your Synapse link reference - actually that is the quesiton 
of POV, for me the first paragraph has completly reverse meaning 
"The advantage of using PostScript is that Synapse EMR can display 
them nativey, and does not use PDF for printing.". I think that most 
ppl and platforms do have PDF Reader of some form, which means - 
I've got a preview mechanism, avoiding user to easily modify the 
output.

REBOL is far from a dead language. REBOL 2 is being used as heavliy 
as ever, see Qtask.com, Synapse-EHR & Cheyenne-Server.org. Three 
dialects of REBOL, namely boron, RED & Topaz, have evolved from REBOL. 
Each offers something different - a fast cut-down evaluator, a native 
code compiled  language and a JavaScript compiler. They are all a 
different stages of their development.
