Cool Romano, will have to check out Anamonitor 3 and latest ATCP 
sometime.

Anamonitor fails on the last beta, i do not know why:
** Script Error: Invalid graphics face object
** Where: view
** Near: show scr-face
if new [do-events]

I always wanted a way to dump all contexts a word is defined in: 
like "dump-context myword" and get a list of named and unnamed contexts. 
Anamonitor can do this.

yes Robert anamonitor can do it  (i do not remember if the last released 
version does it, but my version does it :-)

Or have a look to the req-funcs object (with anamonitor ).

Does any one have a tool for examining large objects?   I'm trying 
to find where things are defined in beer, and using an editor to 
browse the port object is not fun.  A sort of anamonitor for objects?

Graham, anamonitor can examine custom objects, not just the system 
object. You just need to type in a word/path which refers to the 
interesting object.

Yep, Anamonitor 2.0, next to the help button, there's a field that 
says "Name or command". Replace that string with "ctx-edit" for instance.

i think anamonitor 3 can also examine ports, though i haven't tried

That would be pretty cool. Actually, as cool as anamonitor is, I 
don't use it much !  I probably should go exploring in it once in 
a while.

It was a time (not so far) where view doc was pretty inexistent.

Anamonitor was (is!) the way to correct partially this "state of 
fact".

Anamonitor is not a View debugging tools only: it's an object!  explorer.

I tried some things based on loaded code. One can search a word in 
all contexts. The other can find the source for loaded functions, 
with a little markup. could be anamonitor jumping to source. But 
never really did that.

Have a look to the current list style. Use Anamonitor and look at 
the 'words facet. It's pretty easy to do.

It has header problems when I try and run it.

looking into - yes, prboing ports is long. i suggest using some visual 
tool like anamonitor.

Hmm, both anamonitor and roam can not dump that port.

What I found with AnaMonitor is that arial font is used. 

But it seams that problem is not there. I just downloded that script 
localy and it looks like encoding is changed in script by downloading 
but not font encoding paramer !?

But why it changes when I am downloading to my desktop but not -when 
to my laptop?

Looks like we (Cyphre and I) found it. Seems to be a problem in combination 
with RebGUI and Anamonitor in that the event system is somehow patched. 
I will test it further and let you know.

How do you do it? I was checking anamonitor but these kinds of things 
are mysteries to me.

Has anyone written a tree based object browser ?  Anamonitor is the 
only object browser I know of ...

Oh, I like the feeling when I can say "Oh, that's how it works." 
And then there's anamonitor. I can't tell you how many times I've 
gone back and forth with that tool. :-)

i once tried such a source-thing. was cool, browsing with kind of 
anamonitor and jumping right to the source from there. but without 
native support needed ugly hacky markup. if native, one could jump 
from a face straight to its sourcecode.

using hot keys

I was just about to try  view layout [b: box effect [draw [text "test"]]] 
 planning to poke around with help b to see, then I remembered that 
REBOL Linux doesn't have draw text  :(  Sorry.  But that's were I 
would start....poking around in the objects.  May well be a waste 
of time... Then I'd fire up anamonitor and view through some of the 
system objects for that key ...size-text... kinda function.  If that 
didn't work I'd give up and wait for Cyphre :)   Excuse the babbling...

what we need is anamonitor for Rebgui!  :)

ana  button call for anamonitor wich helps me to debugging and no 
my list-view don't works anymore with recent rebgi version (it was 
done with rebgui 0.36 ... )

debuging with anamonitor 2.0  is moreaccurate than  setting probe

hum is there an anamonitor for R3 ?

No anamonitor for R3 yet. system/view will be going away when the 
VID is modularized.

anyway VID in R3  couldn't handle properly an anamonitor like script 
so ...

Anamonitor demo shows some strange white border at the bottom ...

help or a way to start step by step evaluation or stop it   and a 
way to look at your data stacks or organisation like in anamonitor 
.. this advanced  console then  could be done in view dialect and 
be a show room to the view dialect capabilities

Maxim, I felt the same back In time. A tool like anamonitor is not 
anymore possible. (cry on my face)

right now, the only thing I can't "anamonitor" is a function body. 
 I can get that function's body, but can't resolve what the functions 
*it* contains really do.  


all the rest works pretty much as is did, actually it works better, 
since we have real inspection routines now.
