World: r3wp

Pekr:  I had a contact who worked for Adobe and was a gui designer 
on many of their applications.  He is now an indepent contractor, 
but now that he's contracting he's enjoying his time to be with his 
family.  Adobe worked him hard for many years.  So, unfortunately 
he is not available to help out.

my first post above is a reply to Henrik's images regarding the box 
model.  It was an attempt to answer Shadwolf's question about waht 
the difference was between the two images.

Fixes clipping bug (disappearing faces) and garbage in text fields. 
Please download and test.

I like r3.exe name ... maybe new marketing name for rebol could be 
simply - r3 - we all call it like that anyway :-)

I tried to use area - that style is broken by some changes? In older 
version, gui crashed with something like no scroller attached message, 
now it crashes on divide by zero message :-) I expect area is not 
supposed to work yet?

The reason why I am confused about priorities is, that you surely 
are not going to do business apps by using only buttons, fields and 
check-boxes. Areas, scrollbars, draggers, tabs, grids, tree might 
be usefull too :-)

moment.

uncompressed build is very welcome - we can look at sources here 
or there, if there is a need ...

Pekr, it will all come in place. You don't have to care about the 
priority right now.

Well, I expect it being something like that - you work in an area 
of GUI upon which style design/architecture is not dependant ... 
once other guys (as Bolek) move forward, it all plug-ins together 
...

field is weird a bit ... it places caret out of the box on the left 
side by default ...

I think the text area is not properly aligned, or the margins are 
wrong.

maybe it is just margins incorrectly adjusted, dunno ... also text 
has rather big bottom margin, while being close to top of the field 
...

text fields are comprised of two gobs. maybe it makes sense to add 
a debug option to color the text gob.

Pekr, right now I rewritting scroller. Carl's scroller was "too inteligent" 
and needs to be "dumbed down" a bit.This will make things like area 
working again.

interesting, it doesn't misalign that much for me.

Hm, that field looks really strange. It's ok here.

no, but it may be that my server is caching the files. I have some 
trouble with that.

the same result ... I would expect y size of field being bigger?

it is indeed a bit too small, but the text alignment stays inside 
the field for me.

Is anyone writing a styles demo?

I see the random characters are now gone from a button with no name

I get same result as Pekr, cursor appears outside of the field and 
the text appears too hight

and the cursor height exceeds the field top border

I'm still getting a divide by 0 error for an area as well

This is XP under Parallels.

current skin goes into very unpleasant direction :-) E.g. field top 
border makes it feel like text is shifted towards the top ....

Skin is still just temporary. Functionality and bug-fixing is priority.

Guys, XP is obsolete!

Maybe font metrics differ under XP and Vista/W7.

are we using the same binaries and gui source?

I downloaded R3.exe from henrik's site ... and the gui but he says 
it might be caching old versions

I agree with Graham - while I still am not properly used to Vista 
after 3 years of usage, XP is 2002 = 8 year old system - guys install 
Windows 7 and test there :-) Before GUI is finished, XP will be even 
more obsolete :-)
