there must be other places where users are added ...

not sure they are needed. now onto how to make curecode log into 
mysql

one would think, there would be a login to the database somewhere 
in the code. can't find it though. there is one in some test files 
and in the installer.

just [root-:-localhost], but I don't think this is a database problem.

Database string should be root:<password>@localhost/r3bugs

Looks like the install.r script hasn't been updated to match latest 
database schema.

yes. I usually get an RSP error message.

What Cheyenne version are you using?

I think it's the latest exe for linux.

From the error message, I think that something is messed up in app-init.r, 
maybe the captcha loading part. Is your Cheyenne version the one 
with View engine included?

Try a probe system/product to see if View is there.
