us with some hints of what is Carl talking about?

Besides that - don't expect off-line video to come anytime soon - 
Gabriele was talking about weeks, as he needs to grab it, polish 
it etc.

Unfortunately it could simply be that Gabriele had way too much to 
do in organizing the event and working on last minute changes to 
LNS for his presentation.

I recall last year it was Jaime and Gabriele that setup all the video 
equipment and the feed... maybe just not enough time.

I agree it would be nice if someone gave small updates on AltME - 
I really have to assume there is an Internet connectivity problem.

heh, now I remembered something - some 5 years ago, when I was put 
in the charge for e-business team, we met with one partner from Germany 
and I asked them, if CZ, as a post-communistic country, has really 
weak internet connectivity and internet presence, especially in regards 
to companies. Two guys looked one at each other, started laughing 
and told us "haha, you've never been in Italy, right?" :-) Nothing 
against Italy, really, it just came to my mind right now :-)

It seems fair that the priority is for the people at the conferernce.

If someone has volunteered to send instant status reports, that'd 
be nice.
If the haven't, we can wait for the official press releases.

'paying' customers' gets more attention :)

Sunanda - the problem is, like with every post amiga related company, 
that those announcements simply don't come usually :-)

well, today situation is a bit different than one year ago, as we 
have less formal Carl's blog - so maybe Carl will blog a bit about 
his presentation, not bothering to prepare some kind of official 
press release kind of posts ...

Now that would be a problem, Petr :-)

Is GPRS too old these days?

it is rather old, but still working. I have it with my notebook - 
it is some 54kbit, the trouble is, it does not support compression 
as general modem units, so 100KB html site is still 100KB

Reichart is on QTask..but dun think I see him here.

today there is new standard here - EDGE - it can be nearly 150kbit, 
should be enough even for SkyPe ..... it runs on top of GPRS modulation 
or so, but device and mobile points have to support that, so only 
big towns here currently ...

well, from experience I know that Altme doesn't like proxy servers

last year DevCon... Carl mention one of their lessons learnt from 
IOS is that sometimes encrypted message may contain 'dirty characters'...that 
can be rejected by proxy, firewall etc.

'dirty' = 'non approved words...

and since they're at a school, they almost are certainly using a 
free proxy like squid.

so, we can all blame Reichart !

I would not do so, as Reichart is right now the only connection with 
DevCon :-)
