Thanks for the tip for the folder name, but I will waiting for the 
new release to test rules.

I would like to enforce that rebmail can only be used by View 1.3.
So from  rebmail 5.0.0 view 1.3 will be required.

If this is a problem for anyone then please let me know.

This version is compatible with View 1.2.5 onwards inluding View 
1.3

As far as I am aware all users of Rebmail are now using View 1.3.

I have 1 further release that will be compatible with View 1.2.x 
but unless anyone has any objections all future release will require 
View 1.3.

Rebmail 4.11 will remain downloadable, and I will maintain the source 
for critical updates.

As Carl said in his blog, RT will focus on the other OS. So not so 
long to wait for an universal readmail ;)

I am planning 1 last upgrade to readmail.r before Release 5.0 (which 
will only be compatible with View 1.3).

Thanks Phil! Every time you post an update, I think to myself "I 
should really try to start using this thing." Then intertia pushes 
me along. :-(  Someday....someday...

It's cool and definetly worth to have a look.

I noticed that there is a 'Spam' folder.

Does Rebmail has built-in spam filtering?

No built in Spam filtering .... sorry .....

You can setup rules to filter mail as it arrives, see the docs for 
more information.

I find settiung my default inbox to "spam" and using rules to send 
any mail from my whitelist or my address book into my inbox.

These are spelling mistakes in your release notice - "reabmail", 
"rebamail" aren't they ?

I think your fingers are doing the spelling for you.

Rebmail was a project setup to create a Rebol mail client.  As far 
as I am aware, no code was ever written for it.


Through some confussion, my email client got labelled as Rebmail 
... the name of this Group being a good example .... (it was not 
created by me) ....  so readmail.r and readmail are what all the 
documentation refers to ......

when I use the "Check for Update" buton, their is no answer even 
if their is a new version. I believe that this is due to the first 
line of the readmail.ver file that is still Version: 4.12.6

Can you change this ?

BTW: Take a look at SQLite from Ahsley as the backend. Very good 
and fast. And if you than implement the filter idea of Opera, I'm 
going to test it and see if it's an alternative.

Can !Readmail be used from a usb port drive, so that I can download 
my email from many different computers without needing to install?

just copy readmal to the usb drive and it should run from there.

Any chance that you will be adding these features any time soon?

The electricity just went off here, and I got zapped.  I've been 
answering email for the past 9 hours off line using the Eudora email 
client. I lost all of that work---none of my emails had been sent. 
That should not be possible. Every email should be written to the 
hard drive so it cannot be so easily lost. This is really hard to 
believe. Anyway, Phil, I am wanting to switch over to your software 
asap.

what? Mozilla mailer, for ages, just by pressing save saves your 
email as an concept, to your HD of course. I can't believe any product 
would not do so. Maybe you just got corrupt indexes? I would delete 
them, and let Eudora to rebuild it (of course I know nothing about 
Eudora, so maybe it does not use indexes at all)

Pekr, I'll try deleting the indexes.

Eudora saves emails in files ... so it is unlikely that you have 
lost anything.
