some ftp clients NEVER show files starting with a dot, others need 
to be configured to show them.

Looks like i don't need that util after all.  My host located a 500Mb 
movie file uploaded by a hacker a couple of weeks ago .. must be 
at the same time my site got defaced.

anyone know of a command line unzip util that preserves case?  

I tried pkunzip -e -o and all the files were extracted in uppercase.

I use 7 zip.. not sure about case,but is a great zipper, and open 
source..  http://www.7-zip.org/

doesn't work as a command line utility without installation first 
:(

Talked to HP tech support .. seems I need to initialise both drives 
before I can set up raid 1 :(

I've got Windows 2003 server already setup on the initial drive. 
 Pulled out the existing scsi card, and put in the raid card, and 
added another hard drive.  Proliant ML110 server.

Tech guy said if I had setup the first drive on the raid controller, 
it would not be a problem.

Is the Card recognized by the OS?

never got that far .. kept recycling.

Yeah the model is one from Compaq days

Proliants are the name of the servers that Compaq use to sell before 
they got purchased by HP

and still today obviously

I think the name is Proliant, but the motherboard is certainly well 
past Compaq days

termination should'nt be the problem then.  Do you get the bios info 
of the card and able to get into its config at boot up?

Does it show both drives?

yes.

So these are old drives that have data that you still want the data 
from correct?

yeah.

just the first drive.. the second drive is new.

hmmm...  That is a strange animal as usually you have to setup the 
correct type of raid and then initialize but I have seen data loss 
doing it

You want to establish the drives as a raid setup but fail the new 
drive and have it rebuilt it

volume' looks like it would be the first listed type but that field 
should be changable

Should also have Raid 0 1 5 10 and 50

can't change the field.. the tech guy says the card is smart enough 
to know that I have a drive initialised from a diffferent controller.

and it was a mirror before correct?

no.  I got the server with only one drive .. raid card and other 
drive on backorder.

So, installed win 2003 server on the first drive and used it till 
the raid card arrived.
