Alan 28-Nov-2005 [1820] | make sure they pay the rent- is really high down there |
BrianW 29-Nov-2005 [1821] | I was noticing that. I'm also being flown over to Boston for an interview later this week with somebody else. Rent is a lot better over there |
Chris 29-Nov-2005 [1822] | Relatively... |
Louis 30-Nov-2005 [1823] | Does anyone on this list live in (or near) Hamilton, Ohio? |
Izkata 30-Nov-2005 [1824] | Do you consider Illinois close? |
Louis 30-Nov-2005 [1825] | I really need someone in the greater Cincinnati area. |
RobertDumond 1-Dec-2005 [1826x2] | hallo, alls... I am not sure where to post this, so I figured I'd do it here... I am trying to replace the default icon's for an encapped app using Resource Hacker... but if I replace the icons, the app crashes with an Out of Memory error... here's the actual output:** Script Error: Not enough memory ** Near: script: decapsulate if none? script ** Press enter to quit... |
has anyone else run into this issue?
Chris 1-Dec-2005 [1828] | I've not come across this particular error, the only thing I know to be sure of is that you are directly replacing only and all the images in the original icon. |
[unknown: 9] 1-Dec-2005 [1829] | We have done this also. WE did not have this problem though that I know of. Try only replacing the smallest icon to start. |
Sunanda 1-Dec-2005 [1830] | Out of memory is a common message if tryimg to decompress a corrupt compressed file: Could your image be damaged? decompress join compress " abc" "c" ** Script Error: Not enough memory ** Near: decompress join compress " abc" "c" |
Allen 1-Dec-2005 [1831x2] | Make sure you only replace the existing icons, don't add any other sizes/formats that aren't already there. |
I've had that crash happen if I tried to update an icon set that doesn't match the formats of the existing icon set.
Ashley 1-Dec-2005 [1833] | As above, and the group you're after is probably SDK. ;) |
[unknown: 9] 1-Dec-2005 [1834] | well, we should really have an Encap group. |
Terry 1-Dec-2005 [1835] | There was at one time |
Volker 1-Dec-2005 [1836] | related? http://www.rebol.net/cgi-bin/rambo.r?id=3911&Response: Please note, that for it to work, you must replace the builtin icon with one that is *exactly* the same. Otherwise, you get errors like the above. -Gabriele |
Graham 1-Dec-2005 [1837] | it's called the SDK group ! |
Gabriele 2-Dec-2005 [1838x2] | If the icon you replace is even one byte longer or smaller, it gives that error. |
what i do usually is extract the original icon then just change the images without changing anything else.
BrianW 20-Dec-2005 [1840] | We're seeing a steady growth in the number of Web-related channels. Would it be reasonable to great a "Web" divider for them? Then again, I suppose could start experimenting with using my own dividers :) |
[unknown: 9] 20-Dec-2005 [1841] | :) |
DideC 24-Dec-2005 [1842] | --::::: Merry Christmas to all :::::-- Welcome Santa Claus °< 8^#=~ |

eFishAnt 26-Dec-2005 [1849] | A Blessed Christmas Season to all and may epiphanies enrich your endeavers. |
sqlab 26-Dec-2005 [1850] | Fröhliche Weihnachten |
[unknown: 9] 28-Dec-2005 [1851] | Is there a single place somewhere where we have all put a simple clear description of what all is out there for people form Rebol? Ideally it would be somewhere where people could rank or comment on each submission. That these are products and not just hacks. The more unique rankings would push the product up in a TOC. But for example: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Product: AltME (Alternative Messaging Environment) Category: Communications 1 Sentence: AltME is a secure private instant messaging system that you control. 1 Paragraph: AltME is for people who need to work together on a common project or goal. AltME offers secure, encrypted messaging and sharing of information between groups of 2 or more people -- perfect for companies, non-profit organizations, government institutions, schools, clubs, family, friends, or any group of people who need to work or communicate in a coordinated fashion. Pekr 28-Dec-2005 [1852x4] | the only one is RT's products page ... |
http://www.rebol.net/solutions.html
guys - screenshots!!! Screenshots!! I know myself - if I can't find tour or screenshot with any product I try to investigate, I somehow consciously start to give it a big minus :-)
I did some homework in the past - nice gallery here :-) http://www.xidys.com/rebol-view/image1.jpg thru image45.jpg iirc :-) They tell nothing separately, but good for a nostalgy :-)
[unknown: 9] 28-Dec-2005 [1856x2] | Agreed. |
I don't consider something "alive" unless people can comment on it, rank it. It needs to follow the format of Downloads.com for example.
Graham 28-Dec-2005 [1858x2] | I think there's some flaw with download.com ... about a zillion people download something, and only a few comment. |
Needs to be some way to reward those who provide feedback.
[unknown: 9] 28-Dec-2005 [1860] | Sorry, I mean tthe format of the page. |
Pekr 29-Dec-2005 [1861] | Today I got reply from Thom Holwerda from OSNews .... simply put - OSNews is interested in Rebol news and it is fully upon us to submit some product releases etc. Could be good match for View 1.3.2 (but it is old news now, so we should wait for update), Qtask presentation etc., or if someone is willing, to even write rebol related article ... |
[unknown: 9] 29-Dec-2005 [1862] | Qtask is not ready to be talked about until it goes Beta. |
[unknown: 9] 30-Dec-2005 [1863] | So I guess the answer to "Is there a single place somewhere where we have all put a simple clear description of what all is out there for people form Rebol?" is no... Shame. |
Graham 30-Dec-2005 [1864] | I suspect that the library could fufill this function. Up to Sunanda and his team. |
[unknown: 9] 31-Dec-2005 [1865] | Yeah, I think just a few little tricks and this would be great. |
Sunanda 31-Dec-2005 [1866] | Trvor Gosbell does an excellent job of maintaining a comprehensive set of REBOL resources over at DMOZ: http://dmoz.org/Computers/Programming/Languages/REBOL/ Google keeps a (slightly out of date but easier to search) mirror http://www.google.com/Top/Computers/Programming/Languages/REBOL/?il=1 |
Pekr 31-Dec-2005 [1867] | I am not sure, rebol.org does it, I have mixture feelings about it ... |
Graham 31-Dec-2005 [1868] | I think what we are talking about is a way to vote/rate rebol resources. |
[unknown: 9] 31-Dec-2005 [1869] | DMOZ is a closer. |
