closed, but RT will post something official.

so now Ruby can finally have their View clone? :-) They will take 
rebol.dll, create one function "do-rebol", and voila :-)

it is the dll only, so it's like R2 Core without the OS dependent 
parts

the actual license on code has not been announced.

Henrik - good question. I would like to know, if there is finally 
only one executable, so e.g. View is loadable module/component? Or 
what is the situation. I don't understand the architecture. I can 
imagine new SDK, where you can decide, what you put inside, but there 
are parts like View, external language plug-ins, etc.

so it's hard to say if other languages can take advantage of our 
code (they're probably not smart enough anyway ;)

Why not? rebol.dll was already out there on the net with plug-in. 
Jaime posted interface - you could pass it a string with rebol code, 
no?

Gabriele - this is actually good, you know? First Ruby guys will 
think they got View for Ruby, next they will realise, they don't 
actually need Ruby, to just start and use Rebol, so they will drop 
Ruby :-)

I'm a bit confused that REBOL/View == AltME now, so does it mean 
that GUI development is moved away from RT?

Henrik -- Maxim has mentioned your styles for Glayout several times, 
and demoed them.

Said he was up at 04:00 last night, and it took him 20minutes to 
integrate your styles into Glayout.

petr, sure, apps would benefit to have rebol in, but would another 
language do? i don't know. maybe.

it seems to me new marketing plan is already being decided? SafeWorlds, 
AltME (messaging), AltScript - alternative name to REBOL?

ie for us developers nothing changes (except for the fact that altme 
3 opens up a lot of opportunities etc)
