older newer | first last |
Maxim 10-Nov-2006 [2] | and to prepare conferences. |
Pekr 10-Nov-2006 [3] | http://devcon2007.rebdocproj.org/ |
Graham 10-Nov-2006 [4] | need time to build my own plane! |
[unknown: 9] 11-Nov-2006 [5] | Actually the team is doing so inside Qtask. |
james_nak 13-Nov-2006 [6] | They're building a plane inside Qtask? Wow, did we make a wrong turn with Ace Projects! : ) |
Cindy 15-Nov-2006 [7] | nice site Pekr :) |
Pekr 2-Jan-2007 [8] | Could someone from organisators step-in here and tell further conference details? Some of us have to book plane or bus few months ahead ;-) So far there is only very little info released. Will there be any program prior to conference, as there was in Italy for e.g.? I would like to see hotel options listed/suggested etc. If noone responds here, I will try to contact organisers via email ... (email adresses could be listed there too, so far I know only how to contact Nenad ;-) |
[unknown: 9] 2-Jan-2007 [9] | I'll bitch at them on Qtask. |
Will 6-Jan-2007 [10] | some old info but not sure it was posted anywhere here (in french): http://www.rebolfrance.info/projets/devcon2007 |
Pekr 6-Jan-2007 [11] | guys, go screw the french! Post decent info in english, period! |
Will 6-Jan-2007 [12] | sorry pekr, posted the link as there is some info not present on the official site but that page may be more internal organization stuff but at least there is the list of people involved. Hopefully some of them are listening and will come with updates. |
[unknown: 9] 6-Jan-2007 [13] | Pekr, come now...lets not attack just because something is not English (yet). However, I will say, that if I can't get feedback about locked down dates in the next couple of weeks, sadly I will have to cancel my plans to go to France. I have to plan things months in advance given how busy I am. |
Pekr 7-Jan-2007 [14x2] | Ok, sorry guys for my over-reaction. My comment has nothing with intolerance towards frech ppl or french language. It is just practical side of the thing ..... |
the same as Reichart, for me being it concert, vacation, conference, if present in more distant area, I usually plan +4 months ahead.
Gabriele 7-Jan-2007 [16] | i guess we all need to plan ahead (flight, hotel, i even have a friend who'd take the chance to come with me and visit paris). |
Jonathan 7-Jan-2007 [17] | I've posted a message asking about the "lack of practical information for the devcon" on a french rebol forum : http://www.digicamsoft.com/cgi-bin/rebelBB.cgi?thread=%3C13Dec2006131213411293100%3E. I'll post/translate the answers here, if needed. |
[unknown: 9] 7-Jan-2007 [18] | Thank you Jonathan. |
Will 7-Jan-2007 [19] | It may just be a bad timing to ask as many french rebollers are teachers in schools so they're probably on holiday till tomorrow |
Jonathan 8-Jan-2007 [20] | No "useful" answer about the devcon question I've posted on that forum (yet), but I'll keep you guys informed, as I'll be checking this forum (it seems well "alive").. |
[unknown: 9] 8-Jan-2007 [21] | I know that Didier has been on Qtask, but he has not posted anything. |
Jonathan 15-Jan-2007 [22] | Still no "useful" answer on that french forum where I posted questions about the devcon. However, I was told that as soon as anything happens, the official site will be updated (http://devcon2007.rebdocproj.org/). |
Christophe 22-Jan-2007 [23x2] | Well, we've got it so far :-) Registration is open ! Just move to the Registration page on the Devcon 2007 site and follow the instructions. Conference prices and payment method are detailled in the Payment page. |
Any sponsoring remains welcome ! Please inform us about your plans for sponsoring, using the information of the Sponsoring page. Do not forget to send us some kind of logo for your company, so we can figure it on the Sponsoring page, as an expression of our thanks !
Pekr 22-Jan-2007 [25x2] | ah, finally - so the conference plus banquet coststs 100 Eur. That is nice, but I think most ppl will not send their money, unless there are some hotel options listed :-) |
It is normal for conferences to get some special discounts, sometimes even something like 40%.
Christophe 22-Jan-2007 [27x2] | The new contact address for the DevCon's organisationnal committee is : [devcon2007-:-googlegroups-:-com] |
Pekr: hotels are the next step. It will be published ASAP.
Pekr 22-Jan-2007 [29] | ok, thanks a lot :-) |
Christophe 22-Jan-2007 [30x2] | You're welcome :-) |
And remember: no information published on the site means no information available...
Jonathan 23-Jan-2007 [32] | Merci Christophe :-) |
Christophe 27-Jan-2007 [33x2] | Site has been updated with maps, iCal event and more ... |
and the hotels informations are coming pronto !
Pekr 27-Jan-2007 [35] | nice, I was there just few hours ago :-) |
Christophe 27-Jan-2007 [36] | you mean in Paris ? |
Pekr 27-Jan-2007 [37] | no, visiting the site :-) |
Christophe 27-Jan-2007 [38] | :-) |
Christophe 29-Jan-2007 [39] | Some link to hotels in the 5th district of Paris have been published |
Pekr 29-Jan-2007 [40] | excellent - most sites are just reference to hotel search portals. It would be really nice guys, if you would manage some eventual hotel discounts for conference participants. Well, maybe a good idea would be to advertise DevCon a bit, to know how many ppl would attend. Or you can do it other way - reserve e.g. 30 rooms, and use FIFO (first in first out) - even email would work to book room, no form needed ... |
Cindy 31-Jan-2007 [41] | Usually hotels will hold a block of rooms until about 2 - 3 weeks prior to the event. We used a about 20 rooms in the previous two years so asking for 30 would work. I did notice while in Paris last year that there are many small hotels and the larger hotels can be a bit pricey. I think it does benefit to have the attendees stay in the same hotel. |
[unknown: 9] 31-Jan-2007 [42] | Also, big price break by being a little of the main areas. |
Pekr 31-Jan-2007 [43] | I really do worry about conference a bit. No proper activity/propagation, call for sessions. The only one session so far is Carl's R3 introduction .... Hopefully it will all come ... |
Bo 31-Jan-2007 [44] | If I could make it out in May, I would like to present a session. But I don't think I'll be able to make it. |
Maxim 1-Feb-2007 [45] | I think we are all just holding our breath... but things are about to unblock... with things like hotel registrations about to go online. who would publicize his session if he can't be sure of the arrangements. |
Pekr 1-Feb-2007 [46x2] | yes, Max, it sounds logical ... |
and maybe ... this year is special, ppl are awaiting R3 to be born and change our future :-)
Maxim 1-Feb-2007 [48] | I should attend and have surprises, but I still have to clear the budget and the organisation, I should do this by week's end. |
Cindy 2-Feb-2007 [49] | I just registered Carl and myself for the conf. Does anyone know how many have registered yet? I wonder if we should have a list of attendees on the conf website or is that not a good idea? |
Maxim 2-Feb-2007 [50] | hum... only if there are many people otherwise it makes it look like a backyard club. |
BrianH 2-Feb-2007 [51] | I will have to appreciate DevCon from afar, I'm afraid. It's been a while since I've been able to leave the US (money, time). |
