Could someone from organisators step-in here and tell further conference 
details? Some of us have to book plane or bus few months ahead ;-) 
So far there is only very little info released. Will there be any 
program prior to conference, as there was in Italy for e.g.? I would 
like to see hotel options listed/suggested etc. If noone responds 
here, I will try to contact organisers via email ... (email adresses 
could be listed there too, so far I know only how to contact Nenad 
;-)

I'll bitch at them on Qtask.

sorry pekr, posted the link as there is some info not present on 
the official site but that page may be more internal organization 
stuff but at least there is the list of people involved. Hopefully 
some of them are listening and will come with updates.

Pekr, come now...lets not attack just because something is not English 
(yet).


However, I will say, that if I can't get feedback about locked down 
dates in the next couple of weeks, sadly I will have to cancel my 
plans to go to France.  I have to plan things months in advance given 
how busy I am.

Ok, sorry guys for my over-reaction. My comment has nothing with 
intolerance towards frech ppl or french language. It is just practical 
side of the thing .....

the same as Reichart, for me being it concert, vacation, conference, 
if present in  more distant area, I usually plan +4 months ahead.

i guess we all need to plan ahead (flight, hotel, i even have a friend 
who'd take the chance to come with me and visit paris).

No "useful" answer about the devcon question I've posted on that 
forum (yet), but I'll keep you guys informed, as I'll be checking 
this forum (it seems well "alive")..

I know that Didier has been on Qtask, but he has not posted anything.

Still no "useful" answer on that french forum where I posted questions 
about the devcon. However, I was told that as soon as anything happens, 
the official site will be updated (http://devcon2007.rebdocproj.org/).

ah, finally - so the conference plus banquet coststs 100 Eur. That 
is nice, but I think most ppl will not send their money, unless there 
are some hotel options listed :-)

It is normal for conferences to get some special discounts, sometimes 
even something like 40%.

Some link to hotels in the 5th district of Paris have been published

excellent - most sites are just reference to hotel search portals. 
 It would be really nice guys, if you would manage some eventual 
hotel discounts for conference participants. Well, maybe a good idea 
would be to advertise DevCon a bit, to know how many ppl would attend. 
Or you can do it other way - reserve e.g. 30 rooms, and use FIFO 
(first in first out) - even email would work to book room, no form 
needed ...

Usually hotels will hold a block of rooms until about 2 - 3 weeks 
prior to the event.  We used a about 20 rooms in the previous two 
years so asking for 30 would work.  I did notice while in Paris last 
year that there are many small hotels and the larger hotels can be 
a bit pricey.  I think it does benefit to have the attendees stay 
in the same hotel.

Also, big price break by being a little of the main areas.

I really do worry about conference a bit. No proper activity/propagation, 
call for sessions. The only one session so far is Carl's R3 introduction 
.... Hopefully it will all come ...

If I could make it out in May, I would like to present a session. 
 But I don't think I'll be able to make it.

I think we are all just holding our breath... but things are about 
to unblock... with things like hotel registrations about to go online. 
 who would publicize his session if he can't be sure of the arrangements.

and maybe ... this year is special, ppl are awaiting R3 to be born 
and change our future :-)

I should attend and have surprises, but I still have to clear the 
budget and the organisation, I should do this by week's end.

I just registered Carl and myself for the conf.  Does anyone know 
how many have registered yet? I wonder if we should have a list of 
attendees on the conf website or is that not a good idea?

hum... only if there are many people otherwise it makes it look like 
a backyard club.

I will have to appreciate DevCon from afar, I'm afraid. It's been 
a while since I've been able to leave the US (money, time).
