It's a command-line tool acting as a SSL daemon frontend for any
server requiring SSL decryption.

I had a go .. but couldn't get it to work.

I just intalled the windows version, it works very well. I just had
to edit the stunnel.conf file to uncomment the HTTPS config options.

Ok, I might have to have another attempt.

yes... must agree with Doc. It's very easy, just download the latest
precompiled version (I have 4.20) install, uncomment the https as
doc said and than do:
      stunnel.exe -install
to install it as service.. and:
      stunnel.exe -start
to start it.
What I would like to know, is if I can use it to get https urls from
Rebol, not just to encrypt my server?

Didn't tried that, but there's a client mode in stunnel.

Is this what you did ? http://www.stunnel.org/examples/https_windows.html
which is what I tried last year and could not get working.

That's the hard way ! :-)
Just download and install the precompiled version : http://www.stunnel.org/download/stunnel/win32/stunnel-4.20-installer.exe
Then Start => Programs => STunnel => Edit stunnel.conf : uncomment
the [https] section, then save it.

Wow .. so easy?
Dockimbel

Then STunnel => Run STunnel ...and that's all. Takes 2 mn, including
the download time.

Ok. Definitely will try it .. why do they have a how to that's so
difficult ??

They did a good job with stunnel's installer, fast and easy to use.

What bug database are you using now?

The How-To you point us at, is only useful if you want to compile
stunnel sources for the windows version instead of downloading the
precompiled binary.

You said that Mantis was much better than Trac :)
Dockimbel

Better : sure, reliable : I'm not that sure.
Anyway, I'm going to make a Mantis lightweight clone soon, when the
new Cheyenne version will be ready.
That would make a good test application for the new RSP session engine.

How's progress on session handling?
snap!
I want to write a little application that manages hylafax incoming
faxes

Specifications are written, I should be able to implement it this
week. Then I'll need at least a week to test and tune.

Sounds like good progress then.

Sure, Cheyenne is the foundation tool for all our web projects (customer
or internal projects). So I have to make as good (means here fast
and reliable) as possible.

Have you got an ftp client for uniserve?

noob question .. think i've asked it before .. where should one startup
uniserve on a linux system? (suse10) ?
Dockimbel

I'm not sure to understand your question Graham. Do you mean how
to start Uniserve automatically at boot time on Linux ?
Graham

yes.

Just wondering if Apache can be run as a service from YaST, what
would it take to run Cheyenne like that?

Any more thoughts on PHP support?

Is there a Powered by Cheyenne logo?

Doc, please change the error message to "Error Trapped" instead of
"Catched Error"

(probably Doc is referring to his use of CATCH when handling the
error.)

Terry: I'm about to release a new version of Cheyenne with a redesigned
and more reliable RSP engine. I've also started documenting the RSP
API and features (takes much more time than I expected).
Graham: Thanks for the reminder, I forgot to correct that in the
previous release. Now it's fixed ;-).
Powered by

logo: they're is no one currently. I'll enhance the design of the
current logo and I'll add a "powered by" logo too (thanks for the
 suggestion).

Thanks.
Great to hear that progress is still occuring :)
I'm using Cheyenne with RebelBB.cgi at present and it is working
well.

PHP support: Well, I hope there will be good news soon about PHP
interface with Cheyenne as soon as I found a way to properly compile
the latest PHP sources for Windows (compiling under *nix is ok).
It seems that the latest PHP is able to fork itself automatically
under heavy load in FastCGI mode. If this feature works well, I'll
officially include the PHP interface in the next release.
Hi Graham, is your forum online ?
