1) we know that Rebol is not suitable here .... it is clear it can't handle those things in the language level itself .... 2) we were talking Encap here as a kind of bridge app - listening on tcp port on one side, while talking to native OS libraries on another side ... However, for Rebol, the solution is to bring unified interface to various domain specific areas. Do you see how encryption and sound ports are handled? - native engines, providing access thru port mechanism .... I think upcoming 3D (taken from the OSNews interview with Carl) will be imo some kind of configurable port too ... ... as for compiler itself, - few rebol gurus already stated it is not possible in an effective manner, IIRC .... -pekr-
