[REBOL] Re: Independent /encap

From: Rebolinth::nodep::dds::nl at: 15-Aug-2003 19:21

Quoting Maxim Olivier-Adlhoch Hallo Maxim, /encap does the whole encapsulation in memory and uses crypting, created a standalown binary which is not easy to crack during execution and does not give away the source code. While rebox is noting more then a Wrapper that launced /view or /core and reads the source code from a different directory. (I guess thats what rebox does... because upto now i wasnt able to get the rebox linux version running at all..) The need for more is here so to read ..hehe... I think a lot of people cant wait to see the upcoming C API for Rebol and/or the Browser plugin (i think Carl posted a message on the Microsoft trial?..need to read it again..probably related...) I have some experiences with plugings, its not my type of program, Still i think that Carl had a good understanding the way Rebol/VIEW should walk. But as the result shows now, the animo is not that overwelming and its hard to beat standards like web-browsers, so join them??? i dont know.. I like the independent /view option but it shuold be more expanded, also people are lazy ;- ) So im currious if it every will be a success. Then again the IOS is also a great invention for i.e. international compagny's But people are lazy..they stick to the known and are afraight for the unknown... which is a hard thing to fight for RT... Lets hope the ears and eyes are pointing the brain into the right direction regarding rebols GUI future... (im a commandline user ;-) (R)egards, Norman.
