[REBOL] Re: What can be found on web soothsaying

From: ryanc::iesco-dms::com at: 25-Sep-2001 12:37

Relax people, it definateately does not mean REBOL will disappear. Even if REBOL did go bankrupt, somebody would buy the software assets. If REBOL went up sale today, I would be raising money to buy it tomarrow. I am sure I am not alone either. Purely worst case scenerio, Microsoft buys it and puts it in there secret technologies bunker, never to be seen again. If that happened, within days there would be a major project going on to write an open source REBOL. Heck, if that was the case Carl would probably head the project. REBOL is his baby, he is not going to give up on it that easy. This really is just a shift from development staff (Bo and Kris) to marketing oriented staff (Scot and Tom). The only reasonable conclusion we can draw from this is that RT operates on a limited budget and they are preparing to generate revenues from existing or soon to be released products. Sounds allot like good news to me. --Ryan Tim Johnson wrote:
