Bitstream releases 10 free fonts - chance for View?

Hi,
just got myself to following article via OSNews -

Maybe now View could feature quality fonts? I wonder how much would it
add to rebol executable code and if it is worth the effort?

That would be most excellent! The license they have provided allows for
this sort of thing and it would be silly for a cross-platform language to
NOT take advantage of this.. yaya.. same fonts across all platforms..

A native-to-View set would be useful for when we want things to look
exactly the same across platforms, but ten or so fonts would increase
the size of View considerably I would think. Given the choice, I'd
prefer the time and effort to be put into getting View to resize
and/or scale its GUI nicely using the fonts that comes with the OS
it's running on than to have a small number of fonts added to it.
(Having both done would be nicer still of course, but we've been
waiting a long time for a lot of things as it is...)

HI,
Resizing the GUI is already possible, and it works well where it is
implimented (unless I am missunderstanding you ;-) VID 1.3 will include a
very nice resizing system. I may start a little bit of an open source GUI
project shortly here after I do a little more experimentation with speed and
performance issues. I will be driving this GUI toolset for inclusion in
RIDE. I will need to satisfy the largest market possible in the
easiest/most efficient ways possible. So stay tuned if you would like to
include some of your Styles and whatnot in an open source project for
REBOL...
