commercial applications and licensing
[1/5] from: eric::ehrichweiss::com at: 19-Apr-2005 15:15
I've been reading and I'm trying to find what the current status is on
selling our applications commercially. I found some threads from 2001
that were talking about $99/CPU licensing schemes or the like but I also
kept hearing someone point out that a percentage of our sales might be
required too.
Can someone shed some light for me because I'm not about to purchase SDK
AND have to pay royalties for my code because what I'm doing isn't
likely to be used by more than a handful of people.

No royalties. That applied to the encap, and not to the sdk.

Ok, now are you saying that if I encapsulate my program and distribute
it I will have to license everything then? My code is definitely not
going to allow other users to write scripts, so I'm under the impression
that I'm clear according to the terms of the link you sent.. Am I
correct on this? I'm still a long way off from purchasing so I have to
get all these details straight...
Thanx

Sounds correct to me too but none of us actually work for RT although
some of us do work with RT. For definitive answers I recommend that
you send an email to Cindy who is at rebol.com...
