Multi-colored text in view

 [1/4] from: jamesh:Volition-inc at: 4-Nov-2004 15:08

Currently REBOL/View doesn't support multi-colored text in edit areas (e.g., the "area" style). Has anyone developed their own style that supports multi-colored text? Was it discussed for the next major revision of view (which, sadly, I'm not expecting to see for a long time)? James

A few people have developed different approaches to handle this (maybe they'll chime in), but there is no plan to support this natively in View AFAIK, though a new View might appear sooner than you think. There is a *lot* of big stuff in the works right now. http://www.rebol.net/ has more information for developers. -- Gregg

Hi James, There's a work-in-progress called Flounder that uses the Draw dialect to create editable multicolour faces at: http://rebol/mustard.co.nz/projects.htm This project is currently in alpha but there should be enough ideas there for you to easily create your own implementation :) James Hague wrote:
