desktop/Console

 [1/6] from: rsaathoff:datajunction at: 7-Jun-2001 10:17

Hi all, Had a quick question about toggling between the REBOL desktop and console. when I'm in the console, I can type "desktop" to bring the Rebol/Command/View desktop back, but it won't let me open up my local folder. Why is this? Thanks, Ryan

Hi Ryan, Works here under Win98 ... is it a platform specific problem? Really? That's odd. I run Win98 as well. Is there any tweaking that I need to do to any of the index files? Thanks for you help! Ryan ----- Original Message ----- From: <[philb--upnaway--com]> To: <[rebol-list--rebol--com]> Sent: Thursday, June 07, 2001 10:53 AM Subject: [REBOL] desktop/Console

Disregard last post. I just tried it again, and I can get to my local directory now. The problem was most likely windows being windows. (I am *so* switching to UNIX!) Bug I guess. Sometimes the desktop gets confused. -- Graham Chiu

This is a Desktop problem, not a Windows one. I get it on my Amiga and there's been other posts about it in the past. You can get to your local folder the first time you launch the Desktop, but if you go back to the console and then back to the Desktop without any quiting of REBOL you can't then get to your folder.
