Inside R3's developement...

 [1/10] from: carl::cybercraft::co::nz at: 8-Feb-2009 14:48

For those (like me) not inside the loop, there's a nice overview of the state of R3 to be found among the comments here... http://www.osnews.com/comments/20930 Look for henrikmk's comment. -- Carl Read.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Kudos to Henrik for the summary-- almost an "unofficial state of the language" address. I didn't know a lot of those details, and I pay attention to REBOL almost every day (although not in AltMe). On Sat, Feb 7, 2009 at 11:42 PM, Carl Read <carl-cybercraft.co.nz> wrote:

I just downloaded and tested it on Ubuntu in VMWare and had no problems at all. -- Regards, Henrik Mikael Kristensen

Henrik: Can you send me an update of the download link? Can you assert that my syntax for gzip is correct? Thanks Tim

I used the following link (just tried it again to be sure): http://www.rebol.com/r3/downloads/r3-core-a33-p421.gz and unpacked it like this: gunzip r3-core-a33-p421.gz The MD5 sum for the file is: 5f4abbbef6569c1c1b78c8e3266efe5f -- Regards, Henrik Mikael Kristensen

re: http://www.rebol.net/wiki/Porting_Recipe -------------------------------------------------------------- You're on the right track here. If I understand what is going on there - and I only have a brief amount of time to scan - this should give programmers - including package builders - the ability to do porting without releasing source code. tj
