I don't work for Microsoft. http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=02/01/09/1621256&mode=thread&tid=10.3 -jn- -- ; Joel Neely joeldotneelyatfedexdotcom REBOL [] do [ do func [s] [ foreach [a b] s [prin b] ] sort/skip do function [s] [t] [ t: "" foreach [a b] s [repend t [b a]] t ] { | e s m!zauafBpcvekexEohthjJakwLrngohOqrlryRnsctdtiub} 2 ]

Only need 28,441 hits to make it to the number 50 spot just behind the "Lake Scene Screen Saver" (46) I think there's a marketing clue there somewhere. TB

Hi All, << I think there's a marketing clue there somewhere. >> Looking for that killer app? I think we can see that the file sharing utilities (Morpheous and Kazaa) are very popular, but so is WinZip, and install utilities also seem to do very well (on the development side). --Gregg

Not that MS is the only place which does this. I worked at a music site for a while which was devoted to amateur music (an MP3.com competitor, "back in the day"), and there were polls and ratings and votes etc for songs and artists etc. People don't realize that logs *are*, in fact, kept, and that a quick run by something like Webalyzer can detail such events. It's always happened. It always will happen. Microsoft isn't the first, last or only person/group guilty of this. Whether it was an executive decision, or the developers for .NET saying, "Hey guys, let's vote for our product," or some circulating spam which said, ".NET is in this poll! Feel free to vote, friends!", or a script, or... MS just happens to be high profile. You wouldn't hear about it if REBOL did it....
