I'll take a shot at it. A `Wiki' is an idea apparently attributable to Ward Cunningham, one of the principals in the `Extreme Programming' business. A Wiki is a collection of linked pages. Everyone is free to: (1) read the pages and follow the links as they wish; (2) edit the material in any way they feel appropriate, usually by adding further information, but occasionally also by removing erroneous text, etc. Over time the pages just `grow' and occasionally someone will tackle the problem of reorganizing. So far there's no mystery to it. The unusual aspect of the contribution, however, is the use of `Wiki Names'. These are words that have unusual capitalization. For example `DavidNess' is such a word, as is `RebolLanguage' Words of this kind are _automatically_ cross-indexed and hyperlinked. So basically a `wiki' serves as a collection of hyperlinked text pages, all modifiable and cross-linked, that can `grow' to express our understanding of some particular subject.
