[REBOL] Re: Novice Amiga Reboler needs help

From: ka2csh:earthlink at: 3-Mar-2003 3:30

Hello Carl, On 27-Feb-03, you wrote: I didn't see anything in the tool types. For those non-Amigans, tool types are options that are stored as part of the Amiga icon's properties . Amiga icons are .info files, whereas the executable is the same name without the .info suffix. Thus, Rebol.info is the icon file associated with the Rebol executable, or, as us Amigans say, binaries. I do feel a little bit uncomfortable seeing that the latest version of Rebol, in its icon .info file, has a date in 2001 that is prior to the release of the latest version of the AmigaOS, version 3.9 + BB2 (Boing Bag 2), which was released in 2002. Boing Bags are Amiga, Inc.'s names for patches. This would mean to me that the Amiga version of Rebol has not been tested with the latest version of the OS. In fact, in the AmigaOS 3.9 mailing list on Yahoo groups, someone wrote me stating that Rebol Technologies supports up to version 3.1 of AmigaOS and doesn't support the 3.5 & 3.9 versions of AmigaOS. Bummer. :-( Another point is that version 4.0 of the AmigaOS is currently being developed. Will Rebol support AmigaOS 4.0? BTW, Carl, when you get that message in the .info files, chances are that you've got a virus. Do you run a virus checker in the background? If not, when was the last time that you scanned your files for viruses?
