You should even be able to cover just an area containing controls, leaving
others to react normally. Couldn't you? Now, how could you use an effect on
that new face to give a disabled appearance to what's underneath it? Doing
that, you could probably come up with a generic scheme to do it for
individual controls as well, per your 'disabled idea.

P.S. Thanks for PDF_Maker! I'm using it to print layout images and it works
great. It takes a few seconds to convert large images but I can live with
that for my purposes right now. -G
