Wow. Congratulations, Maarten, fantastic, fantastic, fantastic work! I've
already used your MySQL library (thanks for that one as well!) when prototyping
http://www.overloader.at (an experimental news aggregator, at the moment the
update daemons aren't running, however). Works like a charm.
One of things I like most about the K analytic platform (see http://www.kx.com)
is its built-in super-easy-to-use communications channel to other K processes or
'nodes'. Many hot things like real-time financial analysis (OLAP) or Genetic
Programming require clustering of several hundred nodes at least, and it seems
that this capability has come to the REBOL platform now.
With Rugby, REBOL's promise of a full-fledged messaging platform seems to come
true, in a very excellent way.
I'll see how I can integrate Rugby with Vanilla, my not-so-simple-anymore
hypertext system written in REBOL (a current version is running at
http://213.229.9.171, that URL is temporary in nature, however, so be warned
;-). There are some ideas floating in my head already ...
And while I'm at it, I might as well point you list folks to
http://www.langreiter.com/rebol/, where you'll find, in new and improved
versions ...
- k.r/vector.r: implement some functions commonly found in array processing
languages like APL or K, read more at http://www.langreiter.com/space/k.r
- dingsbox-up.r, which is described here:
http://www.xmlrpc.com/discuss/msgReader$1626?mode=day
- harvesters.zip, the base of overloader.at
Thanks again and keep on rocking,
-- Chris
