 [1/4] from: mark::jobstreet::com at: 29-Oct-2002 0:25

Has anyone able to use Rebol to connect to Jabber server? Most of the library I saw are for Java, Perl and Python. Thanks. Hi Mark

Yes a couple, but so far the best I know of is by Nicolas Fournier. It is called 'Maoww' [I think maybe he has a cat] and available from the RebolFrance site donload page: http://www.rebolfrance.org/telechargement.html Maoww has some very nice Rebol/View code in it. The first version was mostly excellent, but had a few nasty bugs to resolve error trapping. I have been too busy to test the latest. If you do have any troubles contact the author, but send a copy to me also. I did an English translation of the French documentation [it is small], which even sparked a list thread discussion of ways to implement multilingual Rebol code. NOTE: I've not updated the translation yet to cover the latest version. But it will probably help you, if you are not fluent in French. I've posted a zip archive you can download at http://koreartech.com/uploads/Maoww_english_0.1b.zip Please keep me posted how you get along. I have ongoing interest in Jabber-based applications, especially for use with Rebol. thanks ./Jason

See http://www.rebolfrance.org/telechargement.html , and look at Maoww. I believe someone has done an English translation. -- Graham Chiu
