make-dir/deep on URLs ? (bug ?)

Hi,
Noticed that make-dir/deep doesn't work on URLs.. Is this intentional,
or is it a bug ?
>> make-dir/deep ftp://root:[xxxxxx--172--16--0--1]/a/b/c/d
** User Error: Server error: tcp 550 .//a/b/c/: No such file or directory.
** Near: m-dir path return path
Tested with /Core 2.5 and /View 1.2
