Eat, drink, or ... ?

Carl has a couple of times used the metaphor that, in using REBOL for
projects we "drink our own wine" -- eg http://www.rebol.net/article/0121.html
That's a better metaphor than Microsoft's one of "eating your own dog food"
-- calling your products dog food is a revealing remark.
But alcohol allusions are not trouble-free either. Alcohol abuse is a
primary factor in much crime and disease. Also, social use of alcohol is not
acceptable in all countries.
So I was wondering (as a non-pet owning, teetotal vegan) if we could find an
upbeat and universal metaphor.
So far, all my mind has thrown up is *worse* metaphors -- like "we get high
on our own supply" -- there are several obvious problems with that, not least
that it's exactly what Al Pacino's Scarface was advised *not* to do.
I'm sure anyone here can do better than that.
Any ideas?
