It's all good news. :) When file/skip is fixed, I can make mp3 id3v1 tag read/write functions work quickly. :) Incidentally, I am on the team working on the script library 2. Anton.

Yes, very good. Finally a reasonably clear product range. Though there's still questions. For instance, Encap comes with the SDK, but wouldn't I be right in assuming it'll be only for one OS, hence if you want it for two or more OSs you'll need to buy two or more SDKs?

Hmmm. Not too fast Petr. That page isn't linked to from anywhere else on the REBOL site yet... -- Carl Read

Hi Carl, You've probably got the same problem as I have .. the old page is sitting in your ISP's cache. Try this one: http://anon.free.anonymizer.com/http://www.rebol.com --Graham.

Ahah! Well, it wasn't there when I looked before. And searching for REBOLion turned up nothing too. (: Yes, go for it Petr.

It could've been, but I eventually got the new page. You're not with Paradise by any chance, are you? ... (:

Flag up another use for anonamizers - till your ISP caches that link too of course. (; -- Carl Read

This is great news! Important problems being fixed, a clear product set, and some published goals and projects! On Sunday, November 3, 2002, at 03:58 AM, Carl Read wrote:

This is an important question for me as well. I have three OS platforms I use on a daily basis and would want the SDK on all of them. Any of which could be targets for an Encap based utility or application. Regardless though - way to go RT! Thanks, Rod. Rod Gaither [rgaither--triad--rr--com] Oak Ridge, NC USA

I realise it no doubt costs a lot more for RT to support multiple platforms than just the one, but making it more expensive for REBOL developers to support more than one platform to my mind defeats the purpose of creating a multi-platform language in the first place. I would've preferred the multi-platform support to be included in the price of the standard licences. Admittedly, encap's really only of importance to those planning to sell encapped software. Inhouse, they could get by with standard scripts on the various OSs they're using.

I'm sure they already know. (: Be interesting to see if they drop any platforms from Core or View when the new versions appear. -- Carl Read

A discount would definitely help. As it is right now I would end up picking a primary platform to have the SDK on. Part of the pricing I always hated from Borland was there was no way to buy a bundle of their language/tools. I know the effort goes with each one to match the price but if I'm buying Delphi Professional I sure would have liked a break in pricing to buy C++ Builder Pro and JBuilder Pro as well - each having their place.

I'm afraid it wouldn't help much in my case - each platform would be a target, just for different types of applications. Mac OS X Linux Windows With some overlap between the OS X and the other two. Thanks, Rod. Rod Gaither [rgaither--triad--rr--com] Oak Ridge, NC USA

I'm pretty sure we can come up with some kind of discount for additional platforms. -Carl At 09:26 PM 11/3/02 -0500, you wrote:
