I don't mean to be unpleasant, but according to
http://www.rebol.com/notes/rebol3roadmap.html, Carl planned «alpha releases
[of R3] available in the late April time frame, with beta by June.» Is there
an R3 beta for download somewhere, or did this go the way software projects
often go - into postponing?

R3 is not available for testing yet.

There are signs of progress though. Such as with RebGUI...

that looks interesting, not who here that have the skills is going to
make a simple Dpaint type app that can take this rebGUI example and
produce something that you can just drag out a few boxes,buttons, pics
and link them to cli apps test and save the resulting working script
to be loaded and used by your average new user ?.

And how about Ladislav's thoughts on parse? (

with block rules? I looked for this in Rambo, but didn't see it. Should I
add it as an enhancement request? Ladislav?

We're of course considering a number of PARSE enhancements.
There's been no decision yet on what will be implemented though.
